About me:

Deep Ellum Enrichment Project "D.E.E.P." is a blend of Deep Ellum Residents, Business Owners, Employees, Musicians, Live Music Venues, Restaurants, Historic Enthusiasts, Artists, the Dallas Police Department, Non-Profit and Cause groups, and Friends of Deep Ellum. We have come together to help the neighborhood through complicated and trying times. We are working closely with Preservation Dallas, Documentary Arts (authors and producers of Deep Ellum and Central Track, Texas Blues, and the Deep Ellum Blues soundtrack), Deep Ellum Association and Foundation, the Deep Ellum Residents Council, and the City Council. We are always looking for new people to get involved! Our meetings are held every Tuesday @ 9pm in the Deep Ellum district to promote exposure to area businesses and explore what the area has to offer. Check our blogs to see where we are meeting next! We know many say they wish the meetings were earlier, but we've tried folks and more people come out consistently at 9pm. D.E.E.P. meetings are not a public forum for the problems that face Deep Ellum, or a place to rant about them. This is a positive organization looking to promote the area businesses, historic preservation, gallery walks, non-profit causes, benefits, and social concerns, green living, LIVE MUSIC (long live), film nights, speaker nights, crime prevention (and as of early 2009 crime in Deep Ellum is very low compared to most Dallas entertainment districts), fund raising and volunteer efforts.
