The 2 emcees and the female vocalist are backed by guitar, bass, drums, and keys. Seven different styles shaken in a hat in front of a blindfolded audience, reaching in to see what might be pulled out. The poetic journey and report on all that surrounds us, the smoothed out funky-ass jams sure to have the dance floor packed, the rock out bang your head off the wall anthems, the chilled out thought provoking retreat from complacency, the sexy take your clothes off on the spot 4 minute long orgasm. The result of 7 different flavors thrown into a crock pot and left to simmer since early 2003. The band named after the area they met and first practiced in… Savin iLL.
Savin iLL has opened for Cappadonna and Inspectah Deck of the Wu Tang Clan, as well as the legendary Kool G Rap. Their song “Homesick” took home the 2005 Great American Song Honor Award. The band was nominated for best live band at Boston's M.I.C. Hip Hop Awards and nabbed glowing reviews from the arts editors of Boston College and UMASS Boston. Savin iLL boasts a huge fan base for an indie act, with over 54,000 friends on MySpace, and has performed all over Boston and other areas of New England and New York.
The follow up to their fan favorite debut album is scheduled for a February 2008 Release.
