Sounds Like
Sweat, drunk dialing, rail whiskey, insomnia, prom night apocalypse, razor blades in baby bottles, sugar blood, the crumbling towers of babylon, methadone, happy alcoholic bumble bees, love letters rolled and used to snort cocaine.

Born of the ashes of Baltimore punk-influenced, political rockers The Soma Solution, Savory James formed with the intention of placing the focus on cathartis.
Boiling down the complicated structures of their previous band, Rob and Chris got back to what matters the most to them, making music that they, themselves, can let go to. Continously molting and evolving, the band has added Fletcher Smith, of genre-defying bands Jumping Off Point and Other Moments of Grace and The Same Damn Thing.
Based on the tumultuous psyche of a world too rotten for the 'nice guys,' Savory James invites the listener into the continuously coping and molting mind of someone trying to escape the world that doesn't care that he cares too much.
Neurosis, catharsis, healing, and near-misses for bliss and self-destruction pour over noisy guitars, haunting melodies, and destructive drums that bring the spectacle of self-sadism and uber-masochism to life. Public soul-cleansing, self-exorcism.
The songs included are part of the band's first full length LP, "The Surgeon," formally released July 28th, 2007.
"They're pretty sweet. Savory James plays power pop/punk rock...no...punk rock/angry folk/indie power pop rock...no...music...yeah that's the one. Think Superdrag meets White Stripes meets The Clash meets...um...Savory James...it's a solid showing of energized and emotional rock...They have the emotion, grit, and enough pop sensibility to attract a wide audience. Next up...world domination, of course."
-Laurent, Pasta Primavera
"Gentlemen with a heart for the sweat beneath the music."
-Mark Redding, lead singer of The Shackeltons
"Elvis Costello and the Attractions without the keys... I think it was all the happy bouncy bits."
- Billy Jack Mast - ex. MisEuphoria, Not Quite Tipsy

You know what man, I've been listening to that first 3 song demo for about 2 years now and I wanna review that full length. do you think you could hook me up with a freebie?
The little one will be 1 year on Wednesday. I can't believe it. I'm great. Start school full time in the fall and things are good overall.
I miss ya! Do you ever go to Sayter Hill for pool anymore? I have my license finally so we should get together or at least I could try to make it to a show!
The Communist Eyes. We dont have anything recorded as of yet. But we're playing at the Black Hole in Dundalk with a bunch of other bands on the 19th. Come see the show. The Band sounds a little different than Media Pigs did. more emphasis on song structure and genre diversity. I'd describe it as the missing link between VU and Black Flag. maybe thats a bit ambitious
Hey rob, how ya doing man? been a while. How long's the SJ hiatus gonna last cause I'm trying to put a bunch of shows together for my band and i wanna play a show with you
sorry to all of those that hiked it out to Talking Head last night. . . what a fucking mess. . .hopefully they'll get their shit together soon... we will do everything in our power to make sure that bullshit doesn't happen again in the future, but until then, everyone that did make it out last night will get one free piece of savory merch for your efforts, so just message me with what you want and we will hook it. . .sorry again, but thanks for coming out in the rain on a tuesday - we totally appreciate it . . .
