"THE SAVORY PAPAS... A progressive movement...
This is a pilgrimage of savory souls.
Our continuing mission:
To stir up Love, compassion, happiness and equanimity using our gift of
words, voice, and songs...
To bring about harmony despite our diversity
To resonantly touch hearts across the universe!"
The Savory Papas is the brain child of Nigerian singer/songwriter, KUKU, and Irish/American singer/songwriter Joe "Sticky Mulligan" Smith. The two met at Savory, a Takoma Park, Maryland cafe in December 2008. The union of KUKU's voice and guitar playing and Joe's banjo rhythm was a blessing in perfect harmony to the ears of the patron at the cafe that evening. They were encouraged by an anonymous dread who urged them to explore working together. The result is "Love in a Time of Hope and Recession", an album conceived after one month of their meeting. "Love in a Time of Hope and Recession" is now available worldwide, distribution by Believe Digital, France (www.believedigital.com).
