Pop duo Savvy & Mandy bring an exuberant burst of tween energy to the current music scene. Hailing from southern California, sisters Savvy, age 15, and Mandy, age 13, sing catchy guitar pop that features songs about sun, summer and ‘tween living. Fun-loving and creative, the two began singing together as little girls, without training, discovering that they had a strong sense of melody to go with their naturally powerful voices and striking stage presence.
Currently recording their debut release for Firm Music, the girls cite influences as varied as Kelly Clarkson, Alicia Keys and Hilary Duff. The sisters have recorded a CD worth of hummable tracks with The Collective (T Squad) and Ken Hauptman (Hannah Montana). Whether it’s the emotional plea to a friend in “I’ll Go On,” or the day to day struggles of being a tween in “Jr. High”, the sisters pack emotional delivery on top of lyrical yet driving melodies.
Savvy and Mandy are more than just talented vocalists. Each has been professionally acting and modeling for a number years and in that short time have appeared in numerous commercials, catalogs and print ads. Upon discovering their passion for performing, the sisters began learning guitar, writing songs and performing anywhere and everywhere they could.
In addition to their recording career, Savvy & Mandy use their striking personalities, innate humor and creativity on their self-titled web show. Showcasing their beauty – and more importantly their wit and brains - the sisters are poised to deliver ten two minute installments of a serial that deals with the day to day antics involved in growing up.
