Steve 's Interests
|
| General | writing and producing music, video, and anything to do with computers. | | Music | I love the local legends: Rusty Burns, Buddy Whittington, Nitzinger, Dimebag, etc. Of course I'll always love the Beatles, Zep, etc. And the old Savvy originals we played live thousands of times. Oh, and some new original stuff as well... | | Movies | We used to re-dub movies with our own voices and sound effects. A few classics are: The Man Who Shot Liberty Valenchi, Porky's Nightmare, Disco Hulk, The Flying Fish Inn, etc. | | Television | Squidbillies: it is only 11 minutes long and that's about all the time I have to watch TV these days. I'm a Big Brother fan, too. | | Books | The Savvy Stories (shameless plug) | | Heroes | Those who love for real and understand. |

About me:
I've been performing for most of my life. It all started with a cheap ventriloquist's dummy (figure) from Montgomery Wards in 1962. I was in the 2nd grade at the time and my puppet pal "Ricky" helped paved the way for me as a "kid" performer. Throughout High School I found myself getting really involved in drama (appeared in most of the productions)and played music with my brothers - and various friends - as a hobby. In 1976 I joined a "working" band and music became my life. The in-depth journals I kept throughout those years have been transcribed into over 80 chapters of stories about those adventures. You can read the Desperado Stories - and The Savvy Stories - on line at www.stevejonesproductions.com. (Click on The Savvy Stories link.) While visiting my site you can also order DVDs of Savvy live at the Dallas Agora in 1982, as well as other videos and interesting items. I still play music, only now it is more of a hobby. We call ourselves the Jones-Miller Band, featuring Rick Miller (Savvy) and Chris Jones (my brother). From 1979 to 2005 I also had many interesting and wonderful adventures while portraying a particularly well-known fast food hamburger chain's mascot - and ambassador to children all over the world. The story of how all of that came to an end would make a great - yet tragic movie - or book - all by itself. It is a story that NEEDS to be told. However, that book will have to wait for now. Thanks for dropping by!
