SAWGRASS RECREATION PARK- EVERGLADES TOURS Embark on a thrilling airboat tour through Florida’s Everglades at Sawgrass Recreation Park! Come visit this family-owned and operated classic South Florida attraction deep in the swamp. With a recent half-million dollar renovation, Sawgrass now offers two exclusive adventures, the daytime Private Tour and the nighttime Red Eye Tour! For the Private Tour your group will be on your own personal airboat especially designed for smaller parties and you will have the chance to travel deep into the Everglades to explore the abundant wildlife. Tours start at an hour and can be extended to suit your needs. The Reptile, Exotic Wildlife Exhibits and our Seminole Story video presentation are included with the daytime Private tour. Stroll through our Reptile Exhibit and visit our turtles, caimans, iguanas, water monitor, and Burmese pythons. Keep the camera out for the “Hold a Baby Gator Experience”, where you get to hold one of our new additions to our reptile family. Visit with a Florida Panther in our Exotic Wildlife Exhibit! Refreshments and snacks are available for your tour or you are always welcome to bring a cooler along and enjoy lunch in our picnic areas. We are happy to help make your tour complete as we rent fishing poles and offer a wide selection of bait and tackle. An experience of a lifetime is our nighttime Red Eye Tour. Your group will board one of our powerful airboats deep in the night to seek out Florida’s legendary reptile, the American Alligator. Sneak through the Everglades as you experience the thrill of the abundant wildlife and explore the sights and sounds of these nocturnal giants. Discover the mysteries of this rich river when you and your group are handed flashlights to search for the telltale red glow from the eyes of these amazing predators. Slide over the Sawgrass and cattails at an excess of 35 miles per hour! This is a rare opportunity to experience first hand the wonders of this one of a kind ecosystem. Some of our guests enjoy hearing all about the Everglades as they leisurely stroll through the deep grass, while others seek a “wild time” while on their tour. Our experienced airboat captains strive to ensure that your experience is the very best as they look for suggestions on ways to make the tour a custom fit. Ear protection is provided for all Private and Red Eye Tours, and in addition eye protection is also provided for the nighttime excursion. Refreshments and snacks are available upon request.
