Mais attention ; ces mécanos du saxophone ne sont pas de ceux à qui l’on confie sa bagnole... Qu’ils débarquent sur une scène, dans un café, ou tout simplement au coin d’une rue, les quatre talentueux musiciens de Sax-O-Matic sont toujours prêts à soulever les foules, où qu’elles soient! Présentant une performance musicale de haut niveau, leur énergie est contagieuse et leur sens de l’humour des plus surprenant! Formé en 2000 dans le but d’assurer l’animation des sites du Festi-Jazz International de Rimouski, ce groupe de Québec s’est rapidement trouvé un créneau des plus originaux en alliant la performance musicale à un humour délirant! Sax-O-Matic rejoint ainsi facilement tous les publics par ses apparitions soudaines et spontanées, souvent même dans des endroits peu communs! Musiciens de jazz confirmés, les quatre saxophonistes de cet ensemble ont chacun un parcours musical bien rempli ; Alain Baril (Les Batinses), Joël Thibault (Steeve Barakat, Joël & the Outsiders, Elvis Story), David Parker (The David Parker Trio, Saudade, The Shuffle Demons) et Sébastien Grenier (Génération Motown, Showman, Summertime) mettent en commun leur expérience et leur talent pour faire de cet ensemble un des plus « sonore » du genre! La précieuse collaboration du comédien, musicien et metteur en scène Pierre Potvin (Bori, Théâtre de l’Aubergine) avec qui ils ont monté plusieurs mises en scène, leur a permis de créer un univers où Al, Dave, Joe et Seb – mécanos peu bavards, indisciplinés et un brin bourrus – délirent comme bon leur semble et selon leur humeur autour de thèmes musicaux et scéniques accrocheurs, pour le plus grand bonheur de ceux qu’ils croisent. /// Sax-O-Matic offre 3 types de prestations: Sax-O-Matic - Service 24h ; spectacle multimédia en continu de 45 à 90 minutes. Playing wherever the wind or the whim takes them — the corner café, the corner of the street — these musicians are refreshingly unpretentious. Read it right there on their stage clothes: “Sax-O-Matic Service 24h”, a quartet with the mechanic’s hands-on, no-bull, get-it-done approach, tuning their saxophones for maximum performance!
Sax-O-Matic was formed in the summer of 2000 for the Rimouski International Jazz Festival as a street band. Their unique and humoristic approach was an instant hit. Whether on stage, on the sidewalks, or standing on your table, the four saxophone players of Sax-O-Matic are full of surprises. They have a way of bringing everyone into their world with a very witty and spontaneous sense of humor. The concept for Sax-O-Matic is based around four rather undisciplined characters (Al, Joe, Dave and Seb), who under the guise of being refrigerator repair men blunder their way through one wacky scenario after another. Their performances are guaranteed to surprise, embarrass, and make people smile as they back up their antics with some top notch playing.
When not performing with Sax-O-Matic, these four very accomplished saxophonists can be found performing throughout Quebec and around the world in many other formations: Alain Baril (Les Batinses), Joël Thibault (Steeve Barakat, Joël & the Outsiders, Elvis Story), David Parker (The David Parker Trio, Saudade, The Shuffle Demons) and Sébastien Grenier (Génération Motown, Showman, Summertime). salut les gars je suis tombé par hasard sur votre page et vos vidéos et ben dit donc chapeau!!un grand respect pour votre musique et votre humour c'est assez décalé c'est terrible ça fait plaisir de voir un bon quatuor comme ça, moi meme saxophoniste je prends bien du plaisr à écouter votre son et c 'est très plaisant
