様々なシーンで活躍する個性派サックス奏者が集まり、98年９月に結成。 ひとりひとりの個性を念頭においてなされている代役不可能のアンサンブル。 サックス、フルート、バスクラ、篠笛などを駆使した多彩 なサウンドで注目を集め、自由かつ大胆なアイディアで独特のホーンアンサンブルとインプロビゼーションを展開する。 サックス・セクションとして [Orange Pekoe]等のアーティストやドラマ、CM音楽のレコーディングも行い、2002年には来日したビル・クリントン前米国大統領の歓迎晩餐会でのメイン・アトラクションを務め、 クリントン氏から賞賛される。これまでに『FANCYMEN IN THE DARKNESS』『シェルブールの雨傘』2枚のアルバムを発表。2007年7月には日本国内初のジャズ・サックス・カルテット用CD--スコア集
『Jazz Standerds for Sax Qurtet』を出版した。2008年4月にサキソフォビア初のライブ盤を発表。
The individual saxophone player who was active in various scenes formed saxophobia in meeting, September, 1998. This saxophone ensemble respects personality of a player and cannot exchange a member. We develop Horn ensemble and improvisation of the one and only for various sound and the bold idea that made full use of saxes, flutes, clarinets, bamboo flute. We play with many artists as Horn section. And we do those recording. We did a performance on a main stage at a welcome dinner party of former President of United States Bill Clinton which visited Japan in 2002. And Mr.Clinton praised it very much. Saxophobia released two albums till now. "FANCYMEN IN THE DARKNESS" in 2000 and "Les Parapluies de Cherbourg" in 2003. It published a CD & scorebook for jazz sax quartets for the first time in Japan in July, 2007. And new live recording album "A Night at SOMETIME" release in April 2008.
