Zo kwam ik bij Say Hello To My Kids, omdat ze waren uitgekozen op het Play Festival te spelen.Erg de moeite waard: postrock met een vleugje electronica met een zeer uitgebalanceerd geluid.

Jong, muzikaal geweld dat mogelijks het kleine broertje is van het nazinderende maar explosieve explosions in the sky . Ze toveren verblindende afwisseling te voorschijn, ontsluieren zweverig (overwegend) woordloos drama en jagen onbestemd en waanzinnig oorverdovend geluid na.

Say Hello To My Kids maakt de perfecte muziek bij dit seizoen! We hoorden in hun 'A century ago I felt fine' verschillende mooie laagjes onheilspellende gitaren, die zoals bij elk goed postrocknummer tot een uitbarsting kwamen. Deze jonge kerels zullen hun publiek live zeker en vast omverblazen met hun geluid dat nóg meer kan aanzwellen tot een overtuigend geheel. Hier horen we nog van! < Studio Brussel
Say Hello To My Kids mix elements of post-rock, ambient and electronica to create a sound unlike any other. They accentuate their atmosphere, without pulling a shadow over the rest of the music. They use different pads, sounds to create the frame and the instruments just softly paint on the canvas, I guess the picture is different with each song and they are all slowly disclosing themselves to you. < Corezine.net

The Band
Say hello to my kids is a four-piece band from Ghent, Belgium.
They started out in February 2007 as a postrockband, but then evolved to a mixture of postrock, indierock and electronic music.
The Music
When listening to Say hello to my kids, the music and the lyrics will remind you of everyday life, both the good stuff and the bad.
Creating ambient atmospheres with real instruments and computerbased sequences,
Say hello to my kids isn't your average band.
But if we have to drop names: If you like bands like Pink Floyd, Explosions in the sky, Mono, The Notwist, The American Dollar,.. you will definitely like the kids.

S/T EP
The band released one selftitled EP so far, containing six tracks they've written the last two years.
They recorded everything theirselves, and for the printwork and artwork they had some help from Linda Beck and Ward Zwart.
Be quick to get a copy, only 100 were made, every single piece is unique, handnumbered, and they are pure awesomeness!
Every EP comes with a free button and a big poster with drawings by Ward Zwart.

I enjoyed all but was particular to "This place" and my favorite "Little girl". great musicianship, great songs. I need to make it over there. the staions and music mags in Belgium have been so good to me and my music the past month or so. If I make it soon I will need to see all of you live.
