Say it Stranger originally got together in the fall of 2003. They crammed themselves into a tiny room with a broken window in Greg's old apartment and made sure not to upset the neighbours by playing too loud. They ate dinner together every sunday, played a few shows, recorded a few songs (including the ones you're listening to right now) and then parted ways. Considerable time passed. Greg and Mike played in Hidden in Buildings and Murder Wink for awhile. Greg channeled all of his spastic rawk inclinations into Crime Moth. Mike channeled all of his sweet folk-pop energy into Western Bearing with Zoli and Jesson. Carlo, Sophia and Graham moved on to bigger and better things. Ian read a lot of Spinoza.
Then, seemingly out of nowhere, Say it Stranger reconciled all their irreconcilable differences and got back together in October of 2005. The new incarnation of the band had a real practice space, so they started playing a little louder, even giving in to the occasional full-fledged psych-out. Everyone was happy.
At the moment, the boys (and sometimes Abi) are playing shows in Montreal, writing increasingly psyched-out songs with increasingly psyched-out five part harmonies and working towards a full-length recording in the spring.
Feel free to drop the boys a line. They'd love to hear from you.
