I have been dedicated to writing since I was a toddler, but I also love ART, history, politics, spirituality, humor, mystery, and dogs. And I guess one would have to say that I have always been interested in love and romance. Peace and activism.
Must not forget film. I have a degree in film making from the San Francisco Art Institute and the years I spent there were some of the best in my life. Recently, I produced a documentary of the Dalai Lama, "Hands for Compassion" -- 2005-- His statement and healing address on 9/11. That was wonderful. (You may contact me for copies of "Hands for Compassion, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama," or watch for it on satellite TV, LINK TV.) Click here to get Codes/Tweaks for your MySpace! - Be Unique!

"A New U" by Katherine Romano. I took the vintage looking footage of San Francisco's Marina district on roller skates for this when I was going to film school at the San Francisco Art Institute in 1982. All the black and white stuff is mine. The New York shots are by Kath Romano, billiards by Greg Bechle and the Grizzly shots are by Matt Anderson. Music by Pioneer Motors.

I love ART and in fact make some sort of a living from it. Here are some, at random, images I thought might turn you on to art too, if you aren't already!

I am a scriptwriter, producer and director. I also acted for many years, but am more interested in writing the script or producing the film these days.
I write an art column and am writing a novel -- well, a mystery-- right now. I have written books on art, screenplays, stage-plays, poetry books, and not-fiction features, all which have seen the light of day. My first publications were when I was 20

About me: Please ck out my friend below, Prayer Flag Revolution, and join their blog group? It is a site supporting the Dalai Lama and Tibet!
About Me? That is always uncomfortable when not spontaneous, -- But here is a link that tells you about my more "sensitive" side and serious work. In the mean time ck out this:
here's a little flick I made.
MUSING: Being an abstract film maker, I chose this little moment in film to upload for you on me-me, because out of an archive of a dozen J.W. vids, the abstract movement of the on-cue totting tiny dog-fur figure, here, flashes by like a black and white painting. soon filling the entire frame like an actor directed to walk, Eisenstein-like, diagonally into the camera, destroying what we normally think of as focus--- awakening Mr. Magoo nearsightedness, & meanwhile the image deconstruction pours into the viewer a pure emotional cocktail of visual information, that has the capacity to dissolve the form of "dog." The representational image becomes abstracted, right before our eyes, just like all of Nature, when one truly looks at it, quietly observing all that is going on on a methexis
of general to particular. The dynamics of particle qua particle as manifested in pixels, interacting with preconcieved "concepts" of what we are seeing when we watch a 2D moving images-- this is an interesting "seed" found in much art-- this aesthetic puzzle-- here for you in "did ya notice the paper?"
A tribute to J.W. and Stan Brakhage!
Uh, otherwise it is a puppy movie by a doting mom and is this whole site reflects the less serious mommie side of childless Simone. Then again is this little film (like the aesthetic meditation above suggests) a dead serious example of the dead-serious side of film-maker-Simone.
I see myspace (and blogs) as a whole new world of self revelation, sell exposure as vulnerable a way as one chooses. You decide. That is the beauty of it.
If you are reading this and interested in playing armchair analyst, philosopher, metaphysician-- please let me know your thoughts. I'd love to converse and urge one another to our very best, individual human potentials.
In the mean time, welcome to my ever updating me-me space and enjoy James Whitman, the cutest puppy on the internet!
Simone.
did ya notice the paper?
Who I'd like to meet: I'd like to meet: Gloria Steinem is one of my heroes. I've see her speak and she seems like someone I'd be fast friends with.

I've met the Dalai Lama, but would love to meet him again. (Update: I just got to spend three more glorious days with His Holiness at the Radio City Music Hall teachings in NYC, Oct. 2007... this picture is by Trish Morris--- of the multi-dimensions this man created by his presence-- she was my benefactor-es for the teachings! thanks Trish!)
I'd like to meet Bonnie Raite-- very warm and very sexy lady!
Bill and Hilary Clinton -- separately.
Barack Obama-- anytime anywhere.
This is a picture of the Museum of Art in Santa Fe-- built in 1917 has four foot thick walls, wild wonderful shows and started as a populist forum showing any and all real artists including O'Keeffe, Anselm Adams and dozens of other great artists from all over the world. Still there, free admission and great shows-- not to mention the amazing archives. Just one thing that makes me love my dear Santa Fe. Anyone who thinks it is tinsel town just hasn't read the history. Maybe you need a visit. it is good for a wake-up call about what this country really is about historically.
BUT THEN THERE IS NEW YORK!!!
AH, NEW YORK>>> you are the QUEEN and I am moving to you soon to give you all I have left to give in this life.... we all deserve this magical, mystical, intelligent and compassionate populace as our National Guiding Light.
Dear Simone,
I will miss you very much on my journeys. You are a very dear friend of mine. Let us never forget our afternoons of gut-aching laughter filled with coffee, enlightenment and the infinite. Go strong into your next endeavor, as I will do the same. Take care of Jay for me and watch the stars (I'll be watching them too).
