In many parts of planet one of our favourite hobbies is to buy, cause we have money to spend. Theres nothing wrong with shopping, but planet reached a strange point when some part of the world is making themselfs comfortable by making other poeple lifes extremely difficult.
I've been working on SAY NOT TO FASHION for nearly a year, and it's been interesting how people reacted, I've come across people that want to make a difference and are really supportive. But on the other side I've come across poeple who seem to enjoy talking about cheap labour, but have no intention to be proactive. At the beginning I was slighlty disappointed, but I've spent sometime thinking about this and my conclusion is that: high street shops are huge part peoples lifes, to decide to support a cause that exploits slave labour; they will be contradicting themselves because they enjoy and look forward to their visits to high street shops, where they find bargins, new clothes, have fun trying on clothes with friends, its an important social activity in this country. And people from all around the world come here to go shopping on Oxford Street, which is probably one of the most famous high streets in the world. So why would anyone want to change this when theres soo much positivity that comes out from the high street.
ONE BIG reason for need for change: cause its a MASSIVE wrong, exploiting people to make products from cheap labour and make them work in conditions that I think most of you reading this wont want to be in in your worst nightmares. It's not hard staying aways from shopping in these shops, i've done it for years and dont miss anything about it.
I still buy clothes, and some i make and wear. But there are soo many other better places to shop in then going to mass produced retailers. Not only are their ethics non existant but also shoppping environments are unhealthy and mentally straining.

What is SAY NO TO FASHION about:
In past we have organaised recycling garments projects, and in the past year we've been doing research on cheap/slave labour within the fashion industry. We want to inform more poeople about cheap labour and why it is wrong. We also want to help victims of slave labour; who usually have no other options in life other than doings jobs that sometimes only pays them 7p an hour.
