I'm a sculptor, photographer, writer, spoken word artist, filmmaker, producer, former casting business development person...a new aunt to an amazing little girl, and a lot of other things...maybe too many other things. But, these are all of the things I do with my time...

Although I'm Susan E...no relation-- I found this a few graves over while shooting "Resurrection Apprentice" on location in Jersey City.
"Ink runs from the corners of my mouth...there is no happiness like mine...for I have been eating poetry.." (~Mark Strand)
Is it the shape of the letters...or the sound they make in my head when I look at them?
"Poets are soldiers that liberate words from the steadfast possession of
definition." -Eli Khamarov
"All writers...have pretty wives. Someone should look into this." Kurt Vonnegut
This is my vagabond shadow, cast on the Kerouac Memorial several years ago...for my Lowell, MA. Self-Portrait.
This picture...makes me happy. (It's the only one from my collection of 11 typewriters that I brought along to Nashville, the rest reside in storage in NYC) It makes me want to live in a silver airstream trailer in the desert with an astro turf lawn and a pink flamingo on a stick out front. I expect a John Waters character to walk in when I am typing on it.
This is one of four new puppets I've been working on. Most of them still need clothes, some need me to make bodies over their odd little puppet skeletons.
I also collect vintage watches(1930's & 40's)and pre 1960's polaroid cameras, I enjoy the hell out of a good cup of coffee(Cafe' Du Monde in New Orleans makes the best)the stronger the better.
I sleep very little...and have a tendency to stay up creating well into the night...sometimes into the next morning.
I'm a huge advocate of taking time to relax, walking just to get away and think, I sometimes yell at the television when I watch hockey. I don't do it enough, but I love camping, sunshine, the smell of fresh air...also love POETRY (spoken, written, thought, lived).
I'm currently learning Italian (have spent 2 years with a bunch of bad podcasts, tons of incredible italian music and finally invested in Rosetta Stone, don't ask me to say anything to you just yet - I'll prob. only mutter something under my breath that makes no sense.)...I'd like to live there one day or have a very extended stay...I think Italy just may be paradise. "Positano bites deep", Steinbeck wrote. "It is a dream place that isn’t quite real when you are there and becomes beckoningly real after you have gone."
When I first meet someone...I notice their hands...I find that a persons hands say a lot about them..I find that interesting.
Untitled Painting 1999.
This is a super rough experimental puppet/animation piece that I recently made playing around with a new camera. Clearly not a finished film by any means....This was inspired by my feelings over the death of my brother's wife, Suzanne.
Check out my cute as hell new baby niece, Matilda Ruby. She is rockin out in her hat and little sunglasses. This little girl is my world -- so full of joy.
And, well...baby feet. Need I say more?
I am very inspired by my family. They have helped me chip away at the pieces of life...and become the woman I am today.
My grandmother--the woman who first gave me the breath of poetry...and gave me the confidence and inspiration as an artist....
My mother--who showed me the beauty of imagination and took me on nature walks when I was little.
My dad, for becoming my best friend when I grew up...and could really appreciate what an amazing man he is, how truly brilliant he is and be thankful for where we travelled with him as a family because of his work.
Music
This is my VERY FAVORITE Chikinki song...when I listen to it...it is stuck in my head for DAYS! ASSASSINATOR 13

Experimental film I was in Directed by Tim Duffy for 2nd year SVA Project. He ran the film backwards in the end, the music was Ladytron - Seventeen. Cool little flick. His other later films on Youtube are pretty cool with dark edgy feel to them.

(we'll not mention my late night MSNBC or cooking channel addiction...pretty much anything Alton Brown)
The british do comedy better then most...
I think we all have one...mine, seems much more illusive however.
I love a good TV love triangle. Sexy is sexy...
Books
I am a literary FREAK. Words...are what drive me. Writing, is my passion. Writers...are the source of inspiration that makes me tick, very few people know that above all other things that I do...I am a writer, and spoken word artist and have been doing this since I was a child...these are only a few among my many favorites: I read quite a lot of David Sedaris' work. His sense satyrical style is very much in line with how I think and express myself.

Heroes
My big brother. I've always thought he was amazing...always...he was the best husband (he and Suz gave me hope for love) he's such a loving father...and is beyond creative, humble, completely zen and I am now learning all over again why he has been such a strong inspiration to me throughout my life.
My grandmother. She lived her life with a frenzied passion--flirted with every man, made lifetime friends with every woman, joked at any awkward situation, and always wore bright fuschia lipstick even when she had on her pajamas. The classiest woman I've ever known.
About me: I relocated to Nashville in 2008 after over 10 years in NYC -- it has now almost been a full year. Although originally from the South -- it is STILL new and strange place for me at the moment as I adjust to sweet tea, parking lots, cowboy boots and the occasional sincere smile.
My family roots:
"Humility Conquers Pride."
~Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio
I took this at my aunt's house, after Katrina blew through Satellite Beach, Florida...the place I consider my hometown.
I'm no average drugstore cowboy.
"The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over. " HST
Near my hometown in Florida...
I took this last year in the Bahamas...it was a beautiful night, I was waiting for the hurricane.
my grandfather was a WWII fighter pilot...I respect his fearlessness and aspire to exercise it with his sophistication.
Crash landing off the Coast of New Guinnea (grandfather standing next to prop.)
"Believe nothing.
No matter where you read it,
Or who said it,
Even if I have said it,
Unless it agrees with your own reason
And your own common sense."

DJ Alex F is here on Quanza with his well known Tech Tribal sound ! 3 tremendous tracks with all what a dancefloor would need, drums, deep basslines, grooves and synths. No doubt Alex F adds and delivers a special flavor to Quanza.
Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace and gratitude. --Denis Waitely
