Who would I dearly LOVE to meet? A Literary Agent who wants to represent my novel!
About MY WRITING
My young adult Fantasy Tale, THE GATEKEEPERS' CHARGE is in the final revision and polishing stage, yeah! I am hopeful about querying the novel this fall. Although it was written primarily for young adults, it does have crossover possibilities into the middle grades and adult audiences. I'm eager to begin the sequel for this story.
In November 2007, I won National Novel Writing Month. What a whirlwind adventure. I discovered the event through the Query Tracker Forum in the last few days of October. What a great time I had, so much fun. I learned a lot about the way I write, different ways to brainstorm ideas, and so much more./p
You must write 50,000 words during the month of November to win NaNoWriMo. I decided to write a story that had been poking and prodding at me. I had been tossing around the ideas and had planned to write it next anyway. So, at 12:01am, 1Nov, I set off pounding the keyboard on my Cozy Mystery. And, although I won NaNoWriMo, I did not finish the novel. The story still has more to be told, so it is now my Work In Progress (WIP). Of course, when the story is finished, it will take much editing and revision to get the manuscript into tip-top shape (NaNoWriMo is about word count, not quality). When I finish the polish on the fantasy tale, I'll return to work on my cozy mystery. The working title for my WIP is TIME'S UP FOR FATHER TIME.
Writing in two different genres has been wonderful; I'm really enjoying both. The differing facets of my personal interests have a place to express themselves. My writing method is more by-the-seat-of-my-pants, than by prepared outline. I love the thrill of discovery -- seeing where a storyline or character will take me. Writing is an adventure.
