--BICI CENTRO: Bici Centro is a low to no cost bike program where community members learn to work on bikes in a multi-lingual, comfortable and fun setting. We help participants of all ages learn to rebuild good, used bikes and we maintain an inventory of used bike parts taken from otherwise broken bicycles. Bici Cento empowers its members by teaching bicycle repair, craft and creativity, as well as an appreciation of the independence and self-sufficiency the bicycle provides them. 601 E. I said it privately, and now I can tell the world -- from my time in California, I think of Santa Barbara and Isla Vista through a soft yellow haze as an idyllic and idiosyncratic oceanside village... and hope to find an excuse to visit again someday!
