well yeah, the mountain goats, of course, are the finest example of songwriting genius. Pretty much everything else I listen to as my mood dictates except misogynistic rap music and new country.
I am a low-brow radio snob, no regrets, so I only turn on the radio for some NPR classical and jazz.
Just now venturing into hip-hop via immortal Technique, it's a learning process, but that's why we're here.
Oh, and the Mattoids kick fucking ass!
Movies
Only small independent movies that I have to hear other people talk about so I can then understand what it was about. After which I can impress others with how well I understood what the writer and director really meant.
Television
Daily Show, Colbert, Current TV and the Discovery Channels. That's about it.
I don't hate the television as some do, I just do not find a great deal interesting in it. I am almost over my Law & Order addiction Thank You God.
Books
Essays are my favorite to read, Montaigne most of all. No harlequins or most autobiographies! All the rest is game.

I honestly don't feel good about it. We've got 3 losses so I'm not that excited about Vol-ball this year. If you guys came into this weekend not having lost to Vandy, I may have been cheering for the Gamecocks. I want an SEC team in the BCS Champ game. I would much prefer a 12-1 USC than a 12-1 LSU. Damn, now I've to pull for LSU. Tennessee won't beat Kentucky so you guys may not be out of it yet.
