School Book Suppository lifted itself out of the underground New York music scene in 2005, becoming a pioneer in the Experimental Pop-Gush genre. They have gathered quite a cult following in New York, Chicago, and Hingeport, Iowa. When front-man Pete Connelly was asked to describe thier strange beats and lyrics, he quipped: "music is really food that goes thru the ear, isn't it?" Despite disturbing lyrics about the evils of the Salvation Army and other charities, S.B.S. continues to dazle and fridazle fans. In September of 2005 they headlined Portland's "Save the Beaches" Festival. Playing without a guitarist and drummer, thier acoustic set had everyone staring at the stage like dead pigeons. Tens of dollars was raised that day, and as soon as the other members recovered from thier badly timed hernias, the band was back in the studio recording a new album: THE RANDOM PRIEST, initially due out in the spring of '06, but do to the loss of the masters during a boat accident in San Francisco Bay, the album will probably be released sometime before summer 2007...
