"The intersection of memory and expectation is what we commonly refer to as the truth; it is when we incorporate circumstance, that we begin to approach reality"
My Children (Preston (11) and Shahien(6)), Reham, reading, sports (primarily Basketball and Baseball, but all to some degree), the boys, reading, writing, music (most all kinds that are not country), the family, movies (all generes)... did I mention reading, gambling, traveling (this should be higher in the list... I *love* traveling). When I cant find anything else to do I read, frequently, you guessed it... with the boys.
Music
"give me excess of it"
Movies
Sure, which one, what time...I'm there!!! Oh wait... that was not a question.
I love pretty much all movies and will spent no limit of time watching them. Reham, when concocting the perfect birthday weekend for me got us a room at the hotel adjacent to the local 21 screen theater and all the movie passes I could handle... she knows me :)
Television
TLC, History Channel, Discovery Channel, sports, movies (cable only... no commercials!)
Books
Currently reading:
The Dante Club
West with the Night (again, second time)
Just finished:
Without Remorse (Clancy)
The Atr of War (re-read)
Chesapeake (Michener)
The DaVinci Code
Angels and Deamons
Uncle Toms Cabin (second read, first since 1985)
State of Fear (Crichton)
Heroes
So, its a holiday... can't remember which and we are doing what my family does on holidays... playing games. This particular one is a Q&A game (cannot remember which one... and... it doesn't matter). We have modified the rules to the point that we are all sitting around the room with one person reading the question and then everyone takeing turns answering.
The question: If you were in the middle of a horrible breakup/divorce, what is the one thing you would fight for?
We go around the room, various answers are given, family heirlooms, and less noble items like cars and dogs, etc. are listed off. Then it is my grandfathers turn, his answer... "my wife". Now that, my friends, is a great answer. People who think like that, they are my heroes. My answer of "family pictures" which seemed so good at the time... well, lets just say onone rememebrs my answer from that night (thank goodness).

About me: I am an average sort of guy, IMO. Taller tham most (6'4") with an athletic build (a little worse for wear, I have led a very active life, and tend to not let my body fully recover before starting that lifestyle up again). My first love is my family (see the "more pics" area for pics of them). I work too much (just ask Reham) and dont read enough (is there enough, though, really?). I tend to read multiple books at a time, not sure why, my friends think it weird of me.
My immediate family consists of Reham, and my two boys (Preston and Shahien). Reham runs a mosaic studio in Boise (MosaicEssential.com) and the boys... well they just run... a lot! My favorite part of the day is between 7:30 and 8:30 (give or take 30 minutes) when we are putting the kids to bed and read out loud (Reham does most of the reading, cause, well, we all like it best when she does it).
I own my own business which (along with my business partner) we started from scratch. I also work for the Idaho State Legislature's Information Systems department (I told you I worked too much).
I love to travel and have been to several countries (although have not left the states since 1989, so I'm getting rusty). My favorite place in the world is Koh Samui, Thailand (although due to the comercialization I saw there the last time I was there ('89) that may not be the case any longer. I do not like touristy places... club med, sandals... not so much for me (which is not to say I would not go if invited... hint hint).
I have a "fetish" for coats/jackets... I could not begin to count how many I have (especially if you count fleeces), that and books are probably the only things I "collect".
