The Scalar Scalawags of Ann Arbor have been described as “a touch of classical meets traditional, Celtic, Eastern European, rock, and pub.” The Scalawags deliver eclectic blends of music using a wide variety of inspirations to create a unique experience. Percussion and creative interpretations of tunes drive their signature sound.
Members include Neil Epstein (piano, accordion, vocals), Elisabeth Epstein (flute, guitar, percussion, kazoo, vocals), Dave Sebolt (whistles, bamboo saxophones, bodhran, percussion), and Mark Hillegonds (hammered dulcimer, percussion, mandolin, vocals).
