THE SCANDAL is a three-piece progressive punk band from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. The band is comprised of Nic White, Mat Cocks, and Liam White.
Since forming in late 2000, THE SCANDAL has shared stages with acts as diverse as AGAINST ME!, THE LAWRENCE ARMS, MY DISCO, PISSCHRIST, MINDSNARE, FRENZAL RHOMB, LUNGS, A DEATH IN THE FAMILY, COUÉ METHOD, STOLEN YOUTH, and THE NATION BLUE.
In August 2004, THE SCANDAL released a split EP with STAND DEFIANT - the first release on independent label Disconnect Records.
THE SCANDAL released its debut long player, Never Hold To Shore, in late 2006. Recorded through winter 2006 with producer Linc le Fevre, the album showcases the band's more cohesive and progressive songwriting.
Shortly after the launch of the record, drummer Mat Cocks was diagnosed with chronic tendinitis, and the band was forced to take the entirety of 2007 off, but returned with a comprehensive national tour over summer 07/08 that took in five states and 22 shows.
THE SCANDAL is currently writing for a 2008 release.

Beers would be rad except I'll be in Europe when you boys come to Melbourne. I'm spewing but the other lads will be up for some beers.
