Brandin's Interests
General
I see a lot of dance concerts because that's just what I do. I like the kind of cryptography found in a museum. Central Park is loads of fun. I like skating along the Hudson and down 5th Avenue; I avoid the subterranean commute whenever possible.

The 5 Obstructions (abstract perfection) A Clockwork Orange (karma and style and alienation; such a classic) Dr. Strangelove (portrait of politicians) The Crying Game (!!?) I'm currently chewing on...
Mandelbrot Set, Simple Zoom
A Simple zoom into the Mandelbrot set done in 2002 with 3x3x8 supersampling (real motion blur!). Coloring corresponds to the Douady and Hubbard potential. http://rgba.scenesp.org/iq/fractals/videos/videos.htm
Television
??? Huh...? What if we all closed our eyes for a moment to imagine a post-television planet?
Creating the Alien
Matrix Accumulation
Using max/msp/Jitter, the computer is playing simultaneously 14 clips from the piece Accumulation/water Motor by Trisha Brown.
A vertical line of 1 pixel with is similtaneously and ramdomly sampled from each clip and moved across the matrix of video leaving a trace of the "dance" or the colors in one matrix.
This is an experimental video dance/installation acccumulated and recomposed in "the space" of the matrix of video. I can be displayed in an LCD flat screen monitor.
