My name is Matthew Saccuccimorano. I produce records, record records, mix records, master records, listen to records, play drums on records. I also play drums onstage and in my garage with a bunch of local (Ithaca) bands. Here's my clever bio: I started listening to Led Zeppelin and Ravi Shankar in Oakland, California at the age of two, in 1969. I started playing drums seven years later. Then I went to music school right here in Ithaca. That's where I met a bunch of like-minded (loudly self-indulgent) musicians and formed my first band. We recorded an album at an early incarnation (small and stuffy) of Electric Wilburland. I'd had some audio training in college (musique concrete, burping into microphones attached to delay pedals, recording profanity into cheap samplers to hear what it sounded like backwards, etc.) and showed the most interest in the process. So I got hired! Not really. The band broke up and I found work doing live sound. I was the house guy at a local club (The Haunt) which saw a good deal of regional and national traffic. A number of the bands who liked working with me live asked for my help in the studio (I became a PRODUCER).
I've worked with John Brown's Body, the Sim Redmond Band, Johnny Dowd, Hank Roberts, Plastic Nebraska, The Thins, Sugarmoan/Jsan and the Analog Sons, The Sutras, The Actual Facts, Mamadou Diabaté, The Mofos, The Fountains, Elliot Martin, IY, Sean Kobuk, Mike Viola, Sunny Weather/Trevor MacDonald, Hubcap, Mary Lorson and Saint Low, Billy Coté, Uniit Carruyo, Wingnut and a bunch of other folks you probably never heard of (but all of whom are brilliant).
When I'm not working I'm with my family, any single member of which could kick your ass.

If music is the food of life, Matt Saccuccimorano certainly knows how to simmer and kick off every good track with the perfect amount of drums 'n percussion to perk the mind, and seal the deal. Not to mention, giving every timbre the space to breathe how it resonates best. Essential and integral, and totally missed if gone. Thanks for all your signature care and handling on ( (( PHONATION )) ) - you freakin' rule.
