Scarbee (aka Thomas Hansen Skarbye) has played in various funk bands as a bassist during his younger years, but early he started to compose music for documentaries for TV and aimed for a career as a film composer. After composing, producing music on more than 150 commercials for TV and Cinema (even working with Oscar winning director Bille August) - being a specialist in catchy tunes, he began to create sample Libraries and virtual Instruments as he wanted better sounds to use for his productions.
These products are used by top artists around the world on albums and live.
Due to "Tunnel Carpal Syndrom" (weak wrists) Scarbee invented an artificial way of playing bass using software in 1999 and released the first bass sounds in 2000. The bass demo songs in player has been created entirely by midi (no loops or prerecorded phrases) using the Scarbee Black Bass sample library. He will soon release "Black Bass" a new generation bass software - featuring his own personal favourite sound.
Since 2001 he has created software versions of his favourite vintage keyboards. Being a devoted sci-fi fan - he simply couldn't resist being a part of the technological revolution in musical instruments and sacrificed some years of his musicianship.
However in 2007 Scarbee has decided to focus more on a career as a singer/songwriter built around his vocals and bass playing as expressing emotions through music is the key to his happiness in life. Another goal set for future is to perform as a "virtual" bass player with other artists and this seems to work out better than expected..
First new song: "Can It Be True" have been finished in March 2008 and below you can hear the song in better quality (than myspace) and same time see the bassline playing on my virtual bass instrument Black Bass Amped 2.
