Scarekrow is a singer, songwriter, guitar playing sound engineer.
He has been performing and doing sound for the better part of the last 20 years.
His career has taken him across the US and beyond; performing and doing sound in 48 states, Canada and Mexico.
Heavily involved in the festival circuit, Scarekrow has performed numerous jobs such as Production, festival consultation, staging, rigging, sound, lights and everything in between, above and beyond for festivals including (but never limited to) Bonnaroo, Jam Cruise, Smile Fest, Reggae on the River, 10,000 Lakes, Nelson's Ledges, Daydream and countless harvest fests.
Scarekrow is currently Sound Engineer for the New Riders of the Purple Sage and tours with them regularly.
In the past, Scarekrow has worked with bands/musicians including Rusted Root, Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers, Peter Rowan, Tony Rice, Acoustic Syndicate, Burning Spear, Mickey Hart, Acoustic Hookah, and many, many more.
Scarekrow can be seen opening most New Riders’ shows with his powerful solo acoustic sets. Recently, he co-wrote the music to Robert Hunter’s lyrics, which were gifted to him through the family and David Nelson.
In regards to his music, he has been described as “the bastard prodigal son of the New Riders of the Purple Sage” for the way he is able to recreate the good ol’ familiar toons and make them his own.
Musicians and performers all want to achieve their own sound and style; Scarekrow has found his.
Currently, Scarekrow is based out of Asheville, NC where he resides with his two favorite girls. Only one is hairy.
