SCARLET VIOLET is a Metal/Punk band formed in Milan, Italy in 2005. The official name is decided from the beginning – Scarlet Violet, apart from being an easy name to remember, is also a combination of two colours reminiscent of the flashy 80s. The only aim of the band is to share a common passion : Rock ‘n Roll. The initial source of inspiration for the Milanese quartet are the records by Alice Cooper, Guns ‘N Roses, Motley Crue and Poison. The first line-up has the two brothers FYLO (who was fifteen at the time) on the guitar and NK on the drums, L.A. on the vocals and FEDEXX on the bass. After spending several hours in rehearsal rooms playing every hard rock cover under the sun, the four decide it’s time to write their own material. They record their first demo two months after forming. It contains the band’s first three original songs which, though recorded on a low budget are, nevertheless, sufficient to give a rough idea of the band's musical direction. The following year the five – song “Ready To Rock” Ep is recorded, the perfect mix of raw yet professional sounds. The title track is featured in the PERRIS NETWORK COMPILATION in early 2007. In December 2007 NK leaves the band: despite losing a precious component, the band decides not to stop, and shortly thereafter find a valid substitute in JOEY, the current SCARLET VIOLET drummer. Soon enough, the band signs a record deal with New York - based indie label SLIPTRICK RECORDS. Hard work, inspiration and total dedication have made SCARLET VIOLET’s first full-length and self - financed effort possible, “Animated Freaks”, released in 2008. The track “Hey You!” is featured in the USA compilation GLAMNATION VOL 5. The band records two new singles, "It's Over" and "Drunk On Elm Street", featured on the downloadable “Drunk On Elm Street Digital EP” (released in 2010), mixed and mastered by top producer Beau Hill (Alice Cooper, Europe, Twisted Sister, Ratt, Warrant, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton). Between the summer and the fall of 2009, the band promotes their debut album with tours in the Baltic and Northern Europe, hitting countries such as Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Finland. In June 2010 the band will enter the studio to record two new singles, which will be mixed and mastered by King Diamond’s guitarist Andy LaRocque, at Sonic Train Studios in Sweden (In Flames, Hammerfall, King Diamond). The band is currently preparing to release a 4-track mini cd called "Roll The Dice". A Japanese tour in early 2011 will follow to promote the release.
