About me:

I never read or update this account. Check out my Livejournal account for more about my life, the universe & everything:
http://scarydavedc.livejournal.com

By 'day', I work as an independent audio visual and theatrical technician. I provide technical assistance for special events and theatrical productions in audio, video/projection, lighting, and information technologies throughout the Washington DC area.

In my free time, I work along side my wife Helene for the House of Musical Traditions at The Maryland Renaissance Festival and other music/historical festivals. I also participate in sports like snowboarding, snowskating (those funny skateboards with a ski on them), and cycling, among other things.

I am an inactive member of the DC area Rocky Horror Cast The Sonic Transducers. ST perform's the second week of each month at Landmark E Street Cinema. I am also a member of the Baltimore area Rocky Horror cast The Ordinary Kids, as well as one of the founding members of the the now-defunct DC cast The Trojan Whores. and an honorary member of the University of Maryland-College Park's cast The Satanic Mechanics.

I went to China once in Middle School, but I haven't been anywhere else outside of the continental 48 unless you count an overnight layover in Japan.

I am a huge fan of The Misfits and most anything related to Glenn Danzig, and I have a huge collection (some of which I'm willing to part with to make room in my new house). Message me for details. Some of my other favorite bands include The Clash, The Damned, Darkest Hour, Judas Priest, Murphy's Law, Bad Brains, Black Sabbath, and pretty much anything Hank Rollins has touched in any way.

I collect video game systems that are no longer in production. I currently have an Atari 2600, two Nintendo Entertainment Systems and one Famicom, a Super NES, an N64, a Sega Genesis (aka Sega Mega Drive), a PlayStation, and a PS 2.

I love monster movies, especially ones involving zombies. I love classic b&w horror, 80's schlock horror, b movies, and horror host programing. I am of a firm opinion that we lost three national treasures in 2008: Forrest J. Ackerman, Maila Nurmi (Vampira), and Bettie Page.

I don't drink alcohol or do drugs and I haven't in over a decade, and I haven't had a cigarette in over two years. I'm not straight edge, as I still eat most meats besides red meat and pork (although I will usually go for the veggie option). Another reason for my lack of sXe status is my sheer love for caffeine: I enjoy drinks like Lo-Carb Monster (my favorite energy drink on the market), Sugar Free or Zero Carb Rockstar, black coffee, Green Tea Sodas such as Cricket Cola (I prefer the diet, since they used Splenda) and Steaz, and "Fresh Brewed, Unsweetend Iced Tea, Lemon & Lime, No Ice". If I'm at a bar, I'm drinking a Virgin Mary (aka a Bloody Shame).

I have never driven a car legally.

Burritos are the best food in the world, period. In DC, Chipotle is my choice if Pedro & Vinnie's Burrito Cart is not an option.

I think that about does it for now.

Who I'd like to meet:

I'm really only using this as a way to check up on my friends who don't use Livejournal, or who do but primarily use MySpace.

If you have a Livejournal & are not on my LJ friends list, please friend me.

Also, I'd like to catch up with folks I have lost contact with from my first 18-21 years of life.
