.. This is a project with little boundaries. A broad spectrum of styles, crossing the lines between all genres of metal, hardcore, and ALL forms of music. This project was created in hopes of bringing all forms of extreme music into one collective ball of energy. In 2006, Scathe started as the brainchild of Stevil from Sickbox (based out of CO) under the name Project Stevil. He moved to Johnstown 2 years earlier, and met Mike Torcia (former drummer) the same year and John Rigel(Lead Guitar) 2 yrs later in 06. John, later, introduced Jarrett Beach to the band, through the instance of John and Beach, sharing bands. Tim Sidor filled the bass position through knowing John and Steve. The band jammed, and recorded some more new songs to add to Stevil's collection of material he had made on his own through-out the years. In early 2007, Mike Torcia left the band due to unknown circumstances? Matt Birk asked the band if he could play as a somewhat serious drummer(he had a lot personal issues that had to be resolved) for Scathe. The rest of 2007 went somewhat fine, playing a consistent sting of shows, until, in August, Tim left the band due to personal issues. Squirrel offered his hand at bass, and also a unique styling to work with the band using slap technique. He tried out, and joined the band in that very same month.... 2008 came and Scathe played a couple more stints of shows. Matt took some time off for his family issues in April-May, and then came back full swing in the summer, but losing Squirrel on bass due to personal issues. For the rest of the year Scathe played shows in various places of PA, VA, NY and CT, trying to get out there making name’s for themselves”, along the way, acquiring some merch (T-shirts still available). They’re now in the studio tracking for the first full-length album, and the rest will be history.... ..
