About me:
My name is Andres, most of my friends calls me Fuzz, I live in Las Cruces, New Mexico (USA), and am a student at New Mexico State University, (slowly) studying for Computer Science. I work part time there at a computer lab helping out students
I do a bit of web design, right now I've been working on a Green Day site called The Green Day Authority for almost 5 years, been running it for the past 3.5 years or so. It's been one of the few things that I've felt has actually taught me a lot about people, and how to deal with them. I can definitely say I'm a better person for having had this experience.
I spend most of my days contemplating how much more I should be working on something, looking at my to-do list, then getting distracted by Google Reader/Twitter/Emails/YouTube/Wikipedia - pretty much anything but actual work..
I consider myself knowledgeable with many things, but not an expert of any. I've been playing piano 10 years, but I stopped playing with any sort of discipline or regularity about 5 years ago, so I'm pretty shotty at best. I've been playing bass for 6 years, and I'd say I'm a little better at that. Guitar for even less, and only know a few songs I enjoy playing over and over. I enjoy mostly pop punk type music; Green Day, Allister, Weezer, Alkaline Trio, etc. I like some classical, some oldies, other stuff like the Eagles, The Beatles, and CCR. I don't listen to music as often as I should, but when I do, I'm pretty particular about my taste.
I'm a bit of a geek, like listening to a few podcasts (TWiT, Macbreak Weekly, Windows Weekly), generally keep up with technology. I also enjoy the routine of listening to Ricky Gervais comedy and watching The Daily Show/The Colbert Report nightly.
Politics fascinate me, and am a bit of a junkie with it. If nothing else, I get enjoyment out of being able to go to work and being able to defend my opinions to my co-workers. I think I'm a "common sense liberal." I agree with the left much more often than I do with the right, but I don't live in some alternate reality where I think liberalism is the end-all answer to progress. Both sides have their pros and cons, i just find more of each on opposite sides. I definitely enjoy sharing my thoughts with anyone who cares.
I give all the thanks in the world to my parents for raising me with some common sense, the ability to use it, and to think about everything and come out pretty centered in the end. It's not something they taught me, but something the allowed me to learn on my own.
Who I'd like to meet:
Jon Stewart, Leo Laporte, Stephen Colbert, Barack Obama, Green Day, some family members that died before i could meet them...
