Brothers Jeff and Joe Kirby turned their band back over to The Lord in early February of 2006 and reconnected in June of 2009 with their longtime friend and drummer Chris Menard to begin a new path down the highway of Christian rock music in Dallas, Texas. Scepter derives their band name from Psalm 2:9 and Revelation 2:27, and is known by their hard rock sound which contains a positive and affirmative lyrical message throughout.
Scepter’s latest EP, Point of Impact, to be released independently in early 2009, illustrates the bands high octane sound which can be described as a heavier vintage metal, geared for today’s audience. The bands goal with this release is to gain media attention and to secure major label support and distribution for a full length CD and extensive touring.
Scepter is launching the EP throughout the internet via MySpace, their band site, and through a robust show schedule. “Giving the band to The Lord is a long road when you’ve been doing it for the wrong reasons for a lot of years. You start over from scratch. It’s taken three years to get to this point but it feels better than anything. This is our take on The Lord’s point of impact and an offering to the world with hope that it will create an impact on lives of those who don’t believe and a re-enforcing impact on those who do.”, voices founder and front man Jeff Kirby.
By now, I bet you’re curious about this one… so go ahead… push play… prepare for impact!
