Up The Junction are 4 young lads from Shirebrook and Langwith UK who
play songs with a difference. Heavily inspired by Indie/Rock they aren't afraid
to throw in any other genres they're influenced by into the feel of their music.
The band formed in mid 2006 playing a few local gigs playing a set list
of covers of well known classics. A few songs were written also during the
birth of the band and have become well known favourites amongst the local
crowds.
The band has seen a couple of line up changes and now in 2008, with the
newly recruited drummer Jamie Pickering (previously of bands The December Fall
and Mel Gimpsuit) the band are now aiming higher and improving things even more.
The band supported legendary rockers Eddie And The Hot Rods in December 2008 to
a grateful and appreciative audience and are looking forward to sharing the
stage with bands of their calibre once again.
Talks are in process of recording a demo in the New Year so watch this
space for details!

Up The Junction, Thanks for visiting our MySpace site and being our new friend. We hope that all is well in your life and in the UK. Black Angel will be releasing our third album in two years on Earth Day April 22, 2009. It is called "O' San Francisco". We asked Tiffany Lowe, granddaughter of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash (and daughter of country singer, Carlene Carter, and British rocker, Nick Lowe) to sing on the album. The top picture below is of Tiffany in the studio recording with us. The album is dedicated to a close associate of Black Angel who recently died who was a big Johnny Cash fan. We also have former Johnny Cash drummer, Danny Darling, playing on the album. We hope to be touring soon and we may be playing shows with former Black Angel singer, Audrey (Mrs. Ike) Turner. The bottom picture is of Black Angel playing at The Roxy in Los Angeles a few years ago with (left to right): Tomeka Haywood; me; Audrey Turner; and Ronnie Turner (son of Ike and Tina Turner on bass). Please check us out when we come to your town.
