About me: ..
Schlafly Beer has not been around for 30 years. In fact, we'll celebrate our 17th anniversary on December 26th with some special festivities. But, we are much more accessible to our target audience if we list ourselves here as much older.
Schlafly Beer can ease your spirit and quench your thirst with dozens of beer styles throughout the year. Visit The Schlafly Tap Room in downtown St. Louis at 21st and Locust or Schlafly Bottleworks at 7260 Southwest (at Manchester). Speak to us via telephone by dialing 314.241.BEER or check our website for more information.
Who I'd like to meet: Beer lovers, music lovers, those who like to eat, drink, and be merry.
Fun-loving folks who appreciate good food and drink in a comfortable setting.
Fun-loving folks who would like to add to the enjoyment of others.
Fun-loving folks who would like to find their own comfortable setting while enjoying a keg, bottle, pint or growler of Schlafly Beer
Thursday, November 5th at the Schlafly Tap Room!!!!:
BIKINI ACID (St. Louis, MO) - Return Of The Rat | Killer Motor Musik | Cosmik Embrace
CABOLADIES (Chicago, IL) - Chymes In Black Water | Ambient Burial | Yr Fantasy Heaven
FUTURESPORT (Chicago, IL) - Inward Drone | Spiral Worship | Crust In The Wind
St. Louis' psychedelic stalwarts, Bikini Acid, play a very special show with Windy City friends Caboladies & Futuresport. Caboladies consist of two swell gents from Lexington, KY who have made their way to Chicago to expel pure aural ecstasy. Futuresport is one of many monikers of Josh Burke (see Sky Limousine), a Chicago fantasy machine addicted to magnetic tape. This show is sure to please anyone with their head in the clouds and heart on the fringe of reality.
http://blogs.riverfronttimes.com/gutcheck/2009/09/introducing_the_beertender_beer_st_louis_food_blog_093009.php Introducing The Beertender, a column for those who dive below the frothy surface of life, view the world through the bottom of a glass and see that it is good. A simple question to start: Why beer? What's the point of giving much thought to beer? Isn't beer meant to be a quencher first and foremost, a refreshing, fizzy tipple celebrated by sports fans and working men, spared the scrutiny of snobs and their tasting notes? Don't we threaten the Great American Equalizer with too much discussion and flavor and hoity-toit? The answer, of course, is no. The world of beer is huge and ancient, and we benefit from inquiry into its countless forms and functions, if only to entertain but more likely to tell us something about ourselves.... Matt Thenhaus is a Saint Louis bartender who believes there is a time and place for every beer. He blogs about beer for Gut Check every Wednesday.
