I'm a five pound Yorkshire Terrier who lives in New York City with my 2 legged Mom and Dad and pesky sister, Pudge. As a puppy, my favorite pastime was to walk to Central Park to play and chase pigeons. On the way to the park I would pass by Ladder Co. #25 where the nice firemen would tease me about being so small and give me treats. Then came 9/11. Nine of my firefighter friends died as heroes on that day. I was so sad.
So I posed for a small line of greeting cards and sold them on my website, www.schmittysays.com. For two years, all the money went to the Uniformed Firefighter Scholarship Fund. Things snowballed from there.
Then one day I was watching TV and saw a story about a mean lady named Katrina who was causing heartache and homelessness for people and their pets in a place called New Orleans. I had to do something to help. So my 2 legged Mom and I created a decorative collar, a DOGS WHO CARE collar that we sold on my website, www.dogswhocare.org to raise money for pets in need - to help the small animal shelters across the country that are dedicated to keeping pets alive and finding them loving homes.
A TV show host out in California named Ellen Degeneres heard about my DOGS WHO CARE collars and sent me an airplane ticket to go to LA to be on her Ellen Show. I was on ACCESS Hollywood with Billy Bush, Fox and Friends News Show - even Mezamashi TV in Japan. . . .wherever that is. I was the first pooch to be named "NEW YORKER of the WEEK on NY1. Doing good deeds not only feels really good, but it's been lots of fun too!
Today, I still love to walk to the Central Park and chase after pigeons. Of course, I'm very busy creating fun new stuff which gives back to DOGS WHO CARE too. And to have my very own My Space page to meet new 2 legged and 4 legged friends - I'm so excited I could just pee! Life is good.
Now, I'm busy being a "party animal" and reaching out to the over 74 million dogs in the US with my BARK THE VOTE campaign to help take a "bite" out of voter apathy
and also help pets in need.

Tueeeeesday already! MOL! Momma was a bit sicky yesterday so she had to stay at home, but everything’s okay again today. Biloxi was happy ‘bout da momma stayin’ at home tho, he never left her side all day! MOL! He snuggled up with her on da couch and that was da last we saw of him… Teehee! Well, we were gonna tell you ‘bout Constantine’s mishaps huh? First he had a kitty fight with Lainey, and one of her nails gotst stuck just above his right eye. Momma had da hardest time getting it out! No more kitty fights guys!
Well, he kept asking da momma for some luuuuuv, but momma was cooking dinner, so she didn’t really have that much time for him. He thought it would be a nice idea to walk over da (how you call it?) cooking ring, burning his whiskers on da left side in da process! He ran like his ass was on fire! Momma comforted him afterwards tho, and said them whiskers will grow back after a while… Silly Constantine…

Some of duh kitties have been pwayin' twicks on duh momma... Bodhi and Kaia to be exact... Bodhi was waiting fow duh momma to open duh doow to duh hallway, and when she finally did, he stowmed in and wan up duh staiws! When momma wanted to go and get him, Kaia wan in duh hallway as well! Now duh momma had to twy and catch two naughty kitties, 'cause we'we not allowed to go upstaiws! Boy, momma suwe had a hawd time chasin' them... Life's nevew dull with kitties in duh house huh? BOL!

Sunday’s here already… pfffff… Yesterday momma gave Raphael a haircut. He’s a Persian kitty, and he likes it when da momma gives him a haircut now and again. I’m Gizmo, another Persian kitty, and I don’t like it furry much. Momma puts me at da food bowls, and when I getst frustrated, I start to eat. But Raphael only sticks his tongue out when da momma gives him his haircut tho… Silly dilly Raphael… MOL! Momma only done half of him, ‘cause he had to stand still for way too long otherwise, so she’s gonna do da rest later today… Teehee!
Kayleigh is becoming a naughty kitty too lately! She has always been a furry shy kitty, and didn’t like to be around people much, but nowadays she loves to be around da momma, and she’s sneaking into da garage whenever she gets da chance! Momma don’t like da kitties sneakin’ into da garage, ever since da accident with yours truly, but Kayleigh only does it so da momma would go after her, find her, and take her back inside!
