I'm a five pound Yorkshire Terrier who lives in New York City with my 2 legged Mom and Dad and pesky sister, Pudge. As a puppy, my favorite pastime was to walk to Central Park to play and chase pigeons. On the way to the park I would pass by Ladder Co. #25 where the nice firemen would tease me about being so small and give me treats. Then came 9/11. Nine of my firefighter friends died as heroes on that day. I was so sad.
So I posed for a small line of greeting cards and sold them on my website, www.schmittysays.com. For two years, all the money went to the Uniformed Firefighter Scholarship Fund. Things snowballed from there.
Then one day I was watching TV and saw a story about a mean lady named Katrina who was causing heartache and homelessness for people and their pets in a place called New Orleans. I had to do something to help. So my 2 legged Mom and I created a decorative collar, a DOGS WHO CARE collar that we sold on my website, www.dogswhocare.org to raise money for pets in need - to help the small animal shelters across the country that are dedicated to keeping pets alive and finding them loving homes.
A TV show host out in California named Ellen Degeneres heard about my DOGS WHO CARE collars and sent me an airplane ticket to go to LA to be on her Ellen Show. I was on ACCESS Hollywood with Billy Bush, Fox and Friends News Show - even Mezamashi TV in Japan. . . .wherever that is. I was the first pooch to be named "NEW YORKER of the WEEK on NY1. Doing good deeds not only feels really good, but it's been lots of fun too!
Today, I still love to walk to the Central Park and chase after pigeons. Of course, I'm very busy creating fun new stuff which gives back to DOGS WHO CARE too. And to have my very own My Space page to meet new 2 legged and 4 legged friends - I'm so excited I could just pee! Life is good.
Now, I'm busy being a "party animal" and reaching out to the over 74 million dogs in the US with my BARK THE VOTE campaign to help take a "bite" out of voter apathy
and also help pets in need.

Wednesday waggy tails from da fluffarooniez, especially by me, Kaia! MOL! Beau has been acting like a real poodle puppy lately! When it’s time to eat, he’s always in doubt on whether to eat his meal or not. It takes him a few moments, but by da time Moccha has finished his, Beau finally starts eating! Our former poodle brother, Rakkie, had da same problem! Maybe they’re related? MOL!
On Monday da momma ordered two packs of Snoopy’s special diet food at da vet’s office. She went and picked it up yesterday evenin’. Snoopy gets that special doggy food, ‘cause his stomach gets all weird when he eats normal doggy food, and he just don’t feel good. So momma went and gotst it, so now he can eat and eat! Even da puppiez steal some of his food sometimes when he’s not looking! MOL!

Thuwsday again! Phew! Da week goes by so fast! Moonray has been having so much fun duh last couple of dayz! He loves to hang out with duh momma, and now that she’s gotst duh aftewnoons off to watch duh Touw de Fwance, he’s been cuddling up on duh couch with hew all duh time! BOL! He’s such a lazy kitty! But I’ve been sneaking my way up thewe too, I must admit… BOL!
Beau and I have a favouwite sock we always play with. We once stole one fwom duh momma, and by duh time she found out, we messed it up so much, she let us have it! BOL! Sometimes Snoopy doesn’t want us to play with it, so he gwabs duh sock, and evewy time we twy to come neaw it, he gwowls at us! She discovewed that Biloxi don’t like to eat duh same bwand of food two weeks in a wow, so to avoid any pwoblems, she’s always on duh lookout fow new thingz. Biloxi got sole mousse last nite, and momma hawdly had duh time to squash it! It was gone in a flash! BOL!

finally Friday and some days off for mom, that is great. We wish all our friends a great and wonderful weekend, and we also like to send some prayers for some of our friends that doesn't feel very well, we have lost some of our friends lately to the Rainbow Bridge and there is still some of our friends that we are worried about, please pray with us for all of them. YAY! It’s da first day of summer! Let’s hope it’s gonna be a long and hot one, so we can play in da garden lots and lots! MOL! Yesterday momma took me (Maylea) and Constantine to da vet. Constantine needed to get his annual shot, and momma was still a bit concerned ‘bout me, ‘cause I was laying down a lot… again. I was a bit better for a few dayz, but not anymore… But we were both mighty brave kitties momma said… Purrr….
Mr. Vet man is furry nice, and he told momma I either pulled a muscle in my right back leg, or I hurted my knee. So he gave me 2 shots, one for my leg, and da other one for my mouth, ‘cause when he looked in it, he noticed I had da beginning of a mouth infection. Momma didn’t know that, ‘cause I still eat a truckload of food! MOL!

Dahli giving you Sunday hugz! MOL! Momma is sooo furry proud of Biloxi! He’s doing so well lately! When you think back to a couple of years ago, he made a remarkable recovery! YAY! He has gone from eating only blended meals, to eating chunky food and dry kitty kibble, from sitting in a corner to walking ‘round, finding new places to take a nap! AND his meow’s back again! Thumbs up for Biloxi!
Da pet store had new kinds of doggy bonez. Da momma was sure Snoopy, Moccha and Beau would like them, so she brought some home. I tell ya, da doggiez went absolutely bonkerz about them! MOL! They were your regular doggy bonez, but there was a bit of bacon wrapped around it. Da doggiez spent all Friday evenin’ trying to get da bacon off! MOL!

When momma came home from work, and had run some errands, she went to da next door neighbour, to ask him if he had maybe seen Bailey hanging ‘round. He told her he’d seen Bailey earlier that day, so momma was glad to know he was still alive. But it took him ‘till last nite to come home, ‘cause there was thunder and lighting… and a whooole lot of rain. But we’re furry glad he’s finally back tho… Phew!

Rain rain rain rain rain... nothin' but rain lately! Soooooo boring! Luckily da momma put up these huuuuuge umbrellas in da garden, normally to keep da sun away from us kitties, but it comes in purrty handy as well when it's raining... We just sit under da umbrellas and watch... da rain. MOL! Avalon HATES da rain! When a raindrop falls on him, he runs like da wind!
Why oh why do doggiez always wanna play with da same bone? We have been keeping Moccha and Beau under surveillance, but we just can't figure it out. Momma bought them bonez coming out of da whazoo! But still they want da same bone! Moccha's gotst a bone, Beau wants it too! On and on and on... they are such silly puppy dogz.... hmmm...

Finally Friday, that is soooo great. Mom promised us lots of yummies today after she's been shopping so we will see what we'll get, hopefully it will be tomatoe, cucumber, lettuce, parsley, apples, melons.....well, maybe we wont get it all at the same time :o), can't blame a piggie for wishing , he he.
