Band MembersThe 'band' side of things is taken care of elsewhere - have you guys ever heard of Field Music? However, School of Language live performances have variously featured the talents of Doug McCombs, Ryan Rapsys, Peter Brewis and Neil Bassett. And me.
InfluencesOblique strategies in essence. The usual in existence.

Your show at Start the Bus in Bristol last year goes down as one of my favourite shows of all time (after Julian Cope and Love with Arthur Lee). I have since discovered Field Music and The Week That Was, who I hadn't heard of until listening to Marc Riley (prior to discovering his show my music tastes was going nowhere after the sad loss of Peel).

I have a page on Bebo that is dedicated to alternative/indie music old and new (including each of School of Language, Field Music and The Week That Was).

The link to the page is www.bebo.com/deadpopstars or just search indie and it's the only one that doesn't focus on the mainstream stuff they try to call indie these days.

Thanks
Mark

Combining a Steve Reich-sense of guitar-driven melodic elements with an abstract, almost Trans-Am like dexterity, each song builds in intricacy and volume until the immaculate devastation of the drums kick in, taking off on a flight into a vast sky of loneliness.
