The Paul Green School of Rock operates with an open, rolling admissions process. Our school runs in a series of 3 seasons, with each season culminating with a show. The payment for the school is based on monthly tuition. Included with the price of tuition are weekly, 45 minute private lessons in the instrument of the student's choice. Additionally, there are three hour, supervised rehearsals held weekly to prepare our students for the main event, THE SHOW!Our shows each center on a theme, and the students spend time delving into the catalogs of certain artists, styles and periods of rock music. Past shows have featured very well received student perfomances in: Pink Floyd's The Wall, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen (David Lee Roth era - of course), AC/DC, best of the 80s, Punk Rock, Devo, Frank Zappa, Queen, and many many more fun and exciting programs. .. .. In addition to the weekly lessons and rehearsals, we also hold rock classes, open jams, and seminars that are free to students with such themes as Songwriting, Music Business 101, Tightening Up the Rhythm Section, What Really Goes Into a Tour, How to Get Gigs and Promote Your Band, and more. We also arrange for professional, touring musicians to come to the school and meet, talk with, and most importantly JAM with our students! .. .. An SOR parent's testimonial.. --At thirteen, my son shunned team sports, malls, and shallow middle-school conversations. He decorated his clothing with elaborate Sharpie doodles, explored music with the tenacity of a paleontologist, and loved to sing. Where would I find a place where his voice and his spirit could run wild? A place where his musings elicited engaging conversations instead of blank stares? A place where his musical passion would catch spark and fuel his own expression in the world? By the end of the first day of School of Rock I knew I--d found --the place.-- Under the exacting demands and encouragement of vocal instructor Carl and bass teacher Joe, awash in jovial banter and been-there-done-that tales from rock & roll veterans, my son found his voice and his community. And while listening to him weave Roger Water--s lyrics in and amongst the guitar riffs, keyboard chords, drum beats and voices of his new friends and fellow musicians, I realized there were a whole lot of kids on that stage who--d also found their voices and their place.-- To enroll your rock-star-to-be, call (206)417-ROCK. .. ..
