“Its exciting
to see how a small showcase for an emerging Canadian band has evolved
into such a great initiative and successful School Event Program. I
knew as soon as I saw the reaction of the students at the first show
that this was a good thing. Now after nearly 40 performances we have
become a great School Spirit builder as well as a program that assists
the schools to raise much needed funds to use to build programs, buy
equipment for the schools, and in some cases the students choose to
donate the funds they raise to a charity.” says Paul Borg the president
of JAAC Entertainment and visionary behind School Rocks.
In the past
year bands like Moneen, Ten Second Epic, The Junction, Afternoon Zero,
and Sydney have all played to 1000+ crowds at staff sanctioned, daytime
high school auditorium shows in and around the GTA… and have had
nothing but success.
“Your SCHOOL
ROCKS presentation represented a new concept here at North Park ,
namely an event that is centered on student interests, promotes the
idea of staying in school, and offers a lucrative fundraising
opportunity for the school. In short, this opportunity was much
appreciated by the staff, the students and myself” D. Dennis,
Principal, North Park Secondary School , Brampton , ON .
