SCHOOLYARD OUTCASTS was a scathing punk rock band from the Garden State, and was formed by Reed Butterfield in 1999. We believed in Jesus, the Bible, and other things. Sometimes our songs reflected that. We liked to talk about the things we believe, but only to people who were up to hearing it. Mostly we liked to rock.
SCHOOLYARD OUTCASTS is pretty much over. Unless something crazy happens, there will be no new SYO albums. Safe Haven Recordings, a new record label out of New Jersey, has picked up the entire SYO discography. Most likely a greatest hits album will be released in the near future. Check back here for updates.
Reed Butterfield, the creator and driving force behind SYO has moved on to other things. Reed still takes clients in his recording studio, Safe Haven Studio (www.myspace.com/safehavenstudio). He will be releasing a solo album soon (check back here for details). Reed is also launching a new record label, Safe Haven Recordings.
Thanks to all the fans. If you want an SYO album before Safe Haven Recordings gets their act together ands releases them officially, send us a message. We'll see what we can do.
