    Schopenhauer 的興趣
一般I enjoy a regular schedule. I enjoyed the Englischer Hof, and other spots. I'll take a pint of ale from time to time. I think though that Mr. Nietzsche had it right when he noted that 'life without music would be a mistake'. To play music, is perhaps to breech the realm of 'doing' philosophy.
音樂I have a passion for Mozart. Wagner drew much inspiration from me, though I wrote to a porter who had delivered a work of his, "Thank your friend Wagner for me for sending me his Nieblungs, but he should give up his music, he has more genius as a poet!" (ed. Hübscher; Gespräche: 1971.) I like to play the flute, but not in front of others. I'm rather shy...
書籍I am not a prolific writer; the least you can do is read my writings.

Enjoy my books:

* 1813, Uber die vierfache Wurzel des Satzes vom zureichenden Grunde (On the Fourfold Root of the Principle of Sufficient Reason)

* 1816, Uber das Sehn und die Farben (On Vision and Colors)

* 1819 [1818], Die Welt als Wille und Vorstellung (The World as Will and Representation) [first edition, one volume]

* 1836, Uber den Willen in der Natur (On the Will in Nature)

* 1839, Uber die Freiheit des menschlichen Willens (On Freedom of the Human Will)

* 1840, Uber die Grundlage der Moral (On the Basis of Morality)

* 1841 [1840], Die beiden Grundprobleme der Ethik (The Two Fundamental Problems of Ethics) [joint publication of the 1839 and 1840 essays in book form]

* 1844, Die Welt als Wille und Vorstellung (The World as Will and Representation) [second edition, two volumes]

* 1847, Uber die vierfache Wurzel des Satzes vom zureichenden Grunde (On the Fourfold Root of the Principle of Sufficient Reason) [second edition, revised]

* 1851, Parerga und Paralipomena

* 1859, Die Welt als Wille und Vorstellung (The World as Will and Representation) [third edition, two volumes]

   Schopenhauer 的自我介紹
關於我:
Habe nun, ach! Philosophie...

I spend time thinking about thinking about things, and then not thinking at all for contrived, extended periods of time.

I should add, that I am exceptionally pleased with my reception on myspace. I was nearly convinced that I would certainly have been forgotten by now. You are all wonderful friends! I thank you all!

I fathered only seeds of existentialism. You'll see this in the metaethical implications of my music theory; see chapter 52 of WaWuV. For you moderns, (post-, if you prefer, though they mean the same thing,) whence does your late-modern music sound? From where, i say!

"Post" Modern! We have only yet, with pensive steps, begun a hesitant procesion into the Modern! We are the last monks of the Dark Ages, here in the 21st of centuries.

History is irrelevant; humanity died long ago with the demise of art - creatures, as Beckett so expertly stated, "born astride of a grave". The light gleamed for an instant... and then was heard no more. We express, but we do not art. We can do, but we can never "Be".

My pessimisms seem the means to discovery of the only means of attaining long since extinct "freedom", "happiness", "art", "love", et cetera; pessimism "is" the alternative to pessimism. It is the necessary stop on the path to an eternal Noch-Nicht. And like the quill of a porcupine, it often tastes bad in the mouth. But like a footy cheese, it is something we become used-to, and eventually learn to love and that from which we draw our only inspirations. (cf. Ducasse, et alii...)

Expunge the copulae! - it helps. We do, we cannot be!

I had to re-learn German when i returned to the German speaking world, so i feel rather comfortable writing all of this in English. You know, I almost translated the works of Kant; had that been the case, my edition would probably have become the standard, and the one by which you-all would be familiar with Mr. Kant. Sorry...

Have patience, and quiet "your" will, please.
我想認識:
Clearly Sappho, Parmenides, et alii... Mr. Samuel Beckett. Mr. Friedrich Nietzsche, a fellow of whom i've heard so much - read him; if i had lived longer, we might have written music together. His extrapolation of the freedom of will from my prize-winning notions, is exceptional. Mr. Jorge L. Borges. Mr. Ernst Bloch, for truly, his 'Ultimum', the simultaneous cultivation and transformation of time, (the moment of subjective, pure, will-less knowing,) leads beyond the pre-destiny of, (a person of whom you have surely never heard - and for which I apologize in making an obscure reference), Hegel, back to a home we have never occupied...

Ich muss noch meine Dissertation über dein Ästetisches Denken beenden; nun werde ich die Metaphysik der Musik abhandeln...

Ich habe auch meinen Deutsch Unterricht wieder angefangen.

Hi Schopenhauer,

My nickname is also Schopenhauer due to the alleged similarities in our thought.

You can check it out for yourself - I have my writings in my blog.

Hope you don't mind me sharing your name with you.
