SchwaB have their first album in the shops with 11 track from the Schwab Vaults for your listening pleasure...it was "Album of the week" at rough trade records shop in March and will be available on digital download at Rough trade dot com and itunes store
I find it totally astonishing that there are so few people writing up here or checking Schwab out. I love that mad story from Marcus down below, who bought the band because he had a relative with the same name!
I went to see a mate headline at Cargo a few years ago, maybe three years ago. And Schwab were supporting, not even playing on the stage but set up in front of the DJ box on the floor.
They positively blew my mates out as far as I was concerned and everyone else there pretty much and even my mates were, (Secretly) muchly taken by their blistering performance.
What the hell is going on? The album is astonishing, the energy at that gig was gobsmacking. By far the coolest band I've come across in years and hardly anyone knows about you?
Mental.
All the best to you guys! Please let us know if you play again or release anything new.
Keep rocking. Keep it lit! And maybe get tangled in the wild and wonderful affray that is the climate camp movement. We suit you.
Hey guys, my name is Marcus and I am a big fan of your music. In the summer of 2007 I was a foreign exchange student in Japan and while in Sapporo visiting the "Sapporo Beer Factory" I made a stop at a nearby mall. It was at this mall in Japan that I got your cd, they had no previews or anything, ShwaB is my brother in law's last name and it is a cool one at that. So it was pretty much an impulse buy, but well worth the money. I get back to my home in the united states only to find that you are from london (What where the odds that I'd find you in Japan?) anyway It was my pleasure to have finally found your myspace and I hope to keep listening in the future.
"Haha, not bad my friend, not bad. I am one of those people who tends to like bands from outside the country better than those in the US. Don't get me wrong, there are some great home grown bands, but foreign bands tend to have a little more zing.
Ha, and these guys have zing. Ha, they are wired! "
Er, guys... have you had a listen to your release of 'The Wallet' on the iTunes Store? I wish I'd listened to a preview before purchasing it; think there's been a mix-up...
