Sounds Like
The soundtrack to hypothetical cinematic synthesis of German Expressionism and Film Noir; an array of sequenced saw-toothed oscillators and overdriven guitar routed through vaccum tubes and reverb; Orwellian radio broadcasts in verse, punctuated by synthesized kicks, snares, and whitenoise; Electro-rock.
Science Heroes are an Electro-Rock duo based in Eugene, Oregon that has been playing throughout the Northwest and California since 2006. Their sound has developed out of the juxtaposition of Josiah Martens’ beat-driven synthesizer work and Andy Weber’s gritty Guitar based song writing. Songs range from the infectiously danceable and anthematic (“What we need more of is Science,” “Sharp of Tooth, Unsparing of Fang”) to the dark and brooding (“The Starry Vault’s Waltz,” “Babylon”). Science Heroes make an effort to explore new sounds and song structures while maintaining a catchy accessibility. They draw inspiration from such things as classic science fiction literature, Alan Moore comics and film noir, in addition to a variety of musical influences.
Andy and Josiah met at Gutenberg college where they studied western philosophy, literature and, of course, science. They started their collaboration within the Blue Tower artist community in 2006. Since then they have been building an audience playing clubs, taverns, and house parties along the west coast.

Yo Science Heroesasaurus. I just found out that we're related...and as a special family only present we've made a new song for you called "End of Days" (start doing backflips now). It's an epic instrumental opus to the moment when our ancient Dino relatives saw a large fiery object plummeting towards them. Please come to our page, give it a listen and let us know if it makes you feel like something catastrophic is gonna happen. If the song upsets you too much we will be holding several s support groups (read: comcerts) in the near future. Check our page for locations, dates and times.

Would love to go the show tomorrow, but I am unable to make it to Portland right now. It's good to see that you have some upcoming performances, heard a rumor that you were done for this year. I'll do my best to make it to the one later this month.
