Courses and Angles consists of Greg Tenenbown and Joey Koehl (both ex-Gulf of Mexico), Mandon Maloney (Li'l Cap'n Travis, ex-Wookie) and Gregg Rounds (Errant Knight Productions). Where Gulf of Mexico emphasized cacophonous guitars, unusual time signatures and frequent fuzz-outs, Courses and Angles focuses on subdued chord progressions, indifferent harmony vocals, sampled found-sounds and occasional keyboards. The band also shows a wider variety of influences than its predecessor; "We Will Go Too Far" features a dub bassline and a shifting rhythmic scheme; "Let Them Hang the Lights" evokes wintry coastlines in its transit from distant crunching to muted horns; and "Fainter Sketches" builds a real time harmony with loopers. New song "And the Dying Day" moves from an understated verse to a full-on analog-delay-head-injury.
Greg Tenenbown -- lead vocals, bass;
Joey Koehl -- guitar, vocals;
Mandon Maloney -- drums;
Gregg Rounds -- keyboard, vocals
