Scientek Basement put their heart and soul in their music, a clever and exciting blend of styles which goes beyond Drum n Bass. Their sound is multifaceted and rich, pure enjoyment to your ears from beginning to end. Every song is unique, telling its own story, pleasing the crowd on the dancefloor as well as the guest of some posh cocktail party, the jazz lover as well as the man on the street on his way to his daily work, hearing some tunes from a CD his son forgot to remove from the car radio.
Scientek Basement is Headz (Arno Bege) and Questa (Robert Quester). Having played drums, keyboard and percussion in several bands, Headz produced his first beats around 1998. Questa startet playing guitar at the age of 11 and has played in rock, punk, funk, jazz and experimental bands ever since. In 2003 Headz and Questa startet working together, their focus shifting from dj-ing to producing their own tracks. Their musical past, among others, was influenced by Jimi Hendrix, Queen, Prodigy and Miles Davis.
Scientek Basement’s joint production of tracks unfolds as thrilling musical dialogue bridging the prevailing stilistic preferences of Headz and Questa, an unscripted vital process ever anew. The outcomes – one of which got airplay on North Rhine-Westphalia based Radio RSG in April 2007 – are enthralling thousands of loyal fans from all over the world who even voted some for 1 hits for several weeks on SoundClick.
