2. Ill Poetix - The Touch

My man Eric beat me to punch in letting the world know about the dopeness of "The Touch", but that's alright, as this song needs to be heard.

Unfortunately, there is not a lot on this free EP, but this is some GREAT music. Produced by Sci-Fi (who you might remember doing some production for Tha Connection) out of Scotland, this three man group out of Washington DC just brings the classic hip hop sound.

Day three coming atcha, live an in effect. Today, I'm tossing up 20 songs that I hope people that haven't heard them yet, will take the time to check them out (plus two extra's, since I couldn't figure out what two songs to cut off of it). They aren't my favorite songs per say (although most would fit into that category), they are songs that are good, but might not have been by everyone that isn't a total underground junkie. I'm not even going to write about them, because well, I'm tired and trying to do a few more things before I get to bed, and plus you should form your own opinion and listen for yourselves.

6. Ill Poetix - The EP

Sounds Like: "The Real Shit", with horns, classic hip hop production done by a mad Scot, Sci-Fi, and the MCs are part of the reason why you should always check for music you've never heard of before.

Summary: I get a lot of music in my inbox and I honestly try to listen to most of it. I love finding new music. Sci-Fi (who should be familiar to those that jam Tha Connection releases as he has done several songs with the NY crew) hit me up about a three man crew out of the States named Ill Poetix that he was doing the production for. The trio was is also on his Advantage Music Group label and when I checked out a myspace page link he gave me, the song "The Touch" was the first track I heard and I was immediately hooked. The thing is, it's not just that song though that is dope, all five tracks should be on a person's iPod, but you will be seeing "The Touch" high up on the year end list for my favorite songs. Comprising of MCs The 4th, 808 (Stop 1) and Ivisuai, the group is definitely a group that I will be waiting impatiently for new music from.

8. “The Touch”-Ill Poetix

As the highlight of a free ep from the AMG label, “Touch” features the gritty-Wu-Tang (circa 1993) feel that I can only hope comes back to Hip Hop in due time. The 3-man crew of Ill Poetix has got me open with this joint produced by my dude Sci-Fi (whom some of you may recognize from his work with tha Connection).
