Scimitar, founded by Stephen Sampson early 2005, is a blackened death metal band from Plymouth, England. Scimitar are widely influenced professional musicians and incorporate all influences to produce a totally original take on modern metal. Scimitar are currently rewriting and self-producing their 'Human Existance: Delete' EP.

This album was Produced, Recorded and Mastered by Jim Morris (Death, Cannibal Corpse, Control Denied, Morbid Angel, Six Feet Under, Monstruosity, Iced Earth, etc) at "Morrisound Recording (www.morrisound.com) in Tampa, Florida. So, we're proud to present it to you with our deepest affection and heartwork. Sharing also those great times we had in the process. “Ascension” tells a free interpretation about "La Divina Comedia" from Dante Alighieri. Divided in "Inferno"(1304 y 1307–1308), "Purgatory" (1307–1308 to 1313–1314) and finally "Paradise" (1313–1314 to 1321 -Dante's death) These 10 songs in 9 tracks (and 3 divisions) imitate and proclaim the perfection Dante tried to reach, but miserably found that after all that inner struggle, he acquired a deep nothingness from that journey. An enlightening epilogue for the mind of those who cannot find belief.
