British band Negative For Francis was formed in 2003. The band started out with a grunge sound, but in 2004 they changed direction and started making new wave-style music.
In 2004 Negative For Francis released Save Yr Money, which the Guardian Guide named single of the week. Their second record, the double A-side Losing Control/Love Bug, was produced by Paul Epworth (who has worked with the likes of Futureheads and Bloc Party). It received rave reviews from the likes of Drowned In Sound and Artrocker.
The boys were popular on the London gig circuit as well as supporting Babyshambles around the UK and touring worldwide. Sadly, despite gathering critical acclaim, Negative For Francis split up in November 2006.
The band’s songwriter and frontman Nick Malena is now making music on his own under the name Sciocco.
