Musically, I'm a big fan of 50's-70's "classic rock" and blues as well as a lot of experimental and contemporary surrealist music -- And They Might Be Giants, of course! I love anything Silent Hill and loved the upcoming movie;
Other movies: Chronicles of Narnia, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, The Ring, Memento, Waking Life, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Forbidden Zone, Head, Magic Christian, the movies of David Lynch or John Waters: anything that is a bit surreal, questions reality, and/or creates a world I can project myself into;
For TV: Lost, Whose Line is it Anyway?, Drawn Together, Family Guy, Robot Chicken, Carnivale, Firefly, Veronica Mars, Alias, Dead Like Me, You Can't Do That on Television, Little Brittain, Twin Peaks, League of Gentlemen, Smoking Room, almost all Brit-coms, Mile High. Ideally, shows I can get on DVD and watch a whole season of;
Of course, Stephen King, Chuck Palahniuk, Tom Robbins, Robert Anton Wilson, Kurt Vonnegut Jr, Christopher Moore, John Irving and their ilk;
Overall, artists and performers, people who remake the world according to their vision without using the tools of government and war.
Sounds Like
I am drawn to creating and combining sounds that are a bit off somehow. In the same way an asymmetrical image can create a certain interesting tension in the viewer, sounds not generally associated with music combined in musical ways, and altered forms of familiar tunes seems to me to create some effect that "real music" just doesn't.
I love having the hairs on the back of my neck raise up when I listen to my work. Some of that is interpretive, associative -- would someone who'd never seen or heard a raven get a little thrill when it caws in the background behind slow-singing children? In my layered word pieces, would they have the same effect if some of the buried text weren't available on a semiconscious level?
I don't know. I suspect somewhere between Jung and Skinner lies a commonality, especially in the realms of fear.
I'd like to think my music is not safe. That it somehow has keys to the lizard brain, accessing parts of us that existed before our life's programming.
I think frequent visits to those parts of ourselves can be beneficial, or at least interesting. Or perhaps I am mad, pontificating on my madness.
Each person sees reality through their own tunnel view. Science Fiction, Alternate Reality, Fantasy, Horror, Smut, Video Games, Philosophy, Music, Adventure, Mystery: every one's a different story. Some have learned how to surf the tunnels like channels of cable TV, and have made a game of it. The reader becomes one of those people: Chunnel Surfers.

WARNING:If you browse my friends and friends-of-friends, you deserve what you find. Don't complain.
As I am listed as a "band" a lot of my personal details are missing. I am 38, and have some of the following qualities (though none identify me fully): I am somewhat pagan, I am a burner (I attend Burning Man), an artist, a writer, an actor. I am bisexual, a non-smoker, and have recently been diagnosed with ADD and Bipolar Disorder.
I enjoy philosophical discussion into the nature of reality, and self-programming.
I have left San Diego and am starting a new life in Maine, where I grew up.
I am pursuing a life of improv, writing, painting, photography, music, performance and other ways to be a force for creating a world where each and every person is powerful in the face of circumstances.
I keep my friends in alphabetical order (when their name stays the same more than a week!).
Victoria and the Vaudevillains is throwing a fundraiser for our Zombie music video, and what better way to do it than a ZOMBIE PROM?!
There will be 4 amazing bands, the hottests zombie burlesque, a raffle, your "traditional" zombie prom photo, and of course the crowning of the zombie king and queen! This is not an even to be missed!
BYOB: Bring your own braaaaaaaaiiiiiiin or your friends' braaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiins.

I'm currently posting a pic of my reaction after seeing what that looked like. I seem to lose all care for my appearance while playing with my food - ice cream tends to bring it out most often...
