The reason energy is spent pointing out the flaws in the bible is because too many people still view this ancient, often-translated, collection of books as absolute literal truth. If no one questioned it's accuracy, we wouldn't have the faintest clue as to what really happened. We would all blindly assume we knew the truth. That is a dangerous and illogical paradigm. It was the paradigm of the dark ages prior to the Renaissance.
The Bible is historically significant, but not historically accurate. They are stories meant to teach morals (love thy neighbor), social rules (Thou shalt not steal/murder), and the wisdom of the age (like don't eat shellfish, it can kill ya.)
The Bible has been a tool for social development, and in some ways it has become a crutch. Disproving the historic accuracy of the Bible helps to eliminate it's use as a crutch, and allow it to be used once again as a tool.
In my opinion, the Bible is sort of the philosophic equivalent of a knife. It can be used to help or harm. Using it as a crutch, a replacement of thought, is harmful to the user, as well as those around him or her by allowing them to be lazy, to not think, and prevents questions that should be asked.
People need to think critically, to think for themselves, and not just assume that what they are told is the truth. The reason blind faith is praised is because it makes people easy to control. Critical thinking allows the thinker to have more control over their actions and minds.

I would suppose that the solutions that we need are probably so simple - but we can’t see them because we have sided on a side that makes us refuse to look at any other possibilities. This "sense of party" actually distances us from the reality of a worldwide community. Simply put, we have blinders on and they need to be removed. As it’s been said: Knowledge Is Power! And so it is. First off, we need some facts. And those facts are available, but one has to evict one’s own perceptions and then go on a "self fact finding mission". Kinda like an INVESTIGATOR. No! Not kinda. Actually just like an investigator. Each individual can only investigate for themselves (if they know how). I say that because now we live in a culture that promotes and delivers “manufactinformation” through the channels of distribution that are most likely informing us with the "authorized versions" of the news. This "information" needs to be questioned and verified. Basically, it’s getting very difficult to tell the shit from the icing.
I firmly believe that mankind is the saving grace of mankind. We need to kick ourselves in the ass and get down to making this world a better place. Not just for the few, but for everyone. I like the idea of many minds vs. one man (or woman) having all powering executive powers. But hey, I’m just getting that idea framed perceptively. It may take awhile to actually grasp that concept and build something out of it. Hell, I may not even be smart enough to plan that into a rewarding global reality, that may be on someone else's plate. But at least it’s an idea, it revolutionary, it's a new focus. I’m open to your ideas - always.
