Sean Conners began performing live in 1984, simotaneously playing bass / guitar for the jazz/fusion band "Improv" and playing guitar for the legendary hardcore/punk band "The Screaming Mailboxes of Destiny" or "S.M.D.". Based out of Pittsburgh, Pa, the band played shows with many of the 80's hardcore staples like Suicidal Tendencies, Samhain, 7 Seconds, DOA, JFA, MIA, DRI, The Dead Kennedy's, SNFU and Morgantown, West Virginia's own legend, The Inbred. They also could be found jammin @ the electric banana in the burgh with the likes of Pittsburgh hardcore innovatiors Half Life, the Cynics, Blackfish, 99cents, Carsickness and other "left of center" bands of the day.
The band's self titled recording, released in the fall of 1985 sold out every copy ever pressed and met with rave reviews in many underground "zine's" including the king of all punk zines, "Maximum Rock and Roll." SMD was also included on several compilations of the day, a highlight includes the song "Hi Bob" (a song about bob newhart and the drinking game surrounding the show) which can be found on several.
Unfortunately, the band's release came at a time when the world was switching from vinyl to CD. And since the release was purposefully limited to ensure it's rarity, it got passed over to ever make it to the new format.
Sean then went on to move into other musical genres, striking out on his own playing acoustically (sometimes to punk and metal crowds to massive ovations) and eventually forming the group "Stringdance" with Paul and Nikki Ferraro which enjoyed modest success. Conners disbanded the group and formed N2O, a psychedelic jam band, a la the grateful dead in the spring of 1990.
In 1992, Conners relocated to the Philadelphia area (northern delaware) and has played solo and in the band Joe's Garage since 1997. Somewhere along the line, Joe's Garage "morphed" into "the Landenbergs." He has also sat in with tons of artists, simply too many to mention. Currently, Conners is completing work on a new studio to further pursue producing new artists and collaborate with other songwriters.
You are more than a little eccentric, and you're apt to keep very unusual habits.
Whether you're a nightowl, living in a commune, or taking a vow of silence - you like to experiment with your lifestyle.
Expressing your individuality is important to you, and you often lie awake in bed thinking about the world and your place in it.
You enjoy staying home, but that doesn't mean you're a hermit. You also appreciate quality time with family and close friends.
Hey friend remember us we would like to think you because wit out you we couldn't of gotten so far, we started this account 3years ago and we never would expect to go so far wit the band
It’s been far too long since I last said hello and so much has happened I thought it about time we did.
We’ve changed a lot, now we are an “UltraModern, post-electro rock, post-nu rave behemoth where Muse and Mansun meet a Massive Attack with Duran Duran pop sensibilities, louder guitars, and a stunning female front person/guitar virtuoso”, or so we have been told.
I’d love to know what you’ve been up to since we disappeared into the dark damp studio cave, let us know how it’s going, I’m always up for a chat! May your thoughts be Scarlet and your actions Blonde ;-) Dawn xx Scarlet/blonde
