Scootaboi is a high energy 3 piece pop/rock show band.
Which on past records, was invited to be the regular house band featuring two nights a week, for an popular inner city Newcastle venue which lasted for 3 years in total.
The band had been flown to Melbourne to duplicate the successful entertainment models being deployed in the cities CBD.
The long term residency provided the band with valuable street credibility, consistancy, loyal fans and a rock solid live repertoire and show.
The band retains a STRONG following with which too boost any local venues attendance rates.
The band has played to pro surfers, ARL stars, corporate functions, private functions and club dates.
Matthew Johns, from the Footy Show, jammed with the band live as Reg Reagan singing " Am I Ever Gunna See Your Face Again?", the band has done promotional appearances with Ralph Swimsuit Model Of The Decade Ally Muntch, Big Brother 4s DJ Kane, Annalise Brakensiak and co-hosted Jackass Wednesdays for two years in Newcastle playing to full houses.
Some of the bands corporate engagements include; the Stockland Group, Mars Petworks, University of Newcastle, Newcastle Panthers Club.
Some examples of regular local work include; The Delany Hotel, MJ Finnegans, The Brewery, The Belmore Hotel, The Exchange Hotel.
Every show is full of happy, energetic revelers of all demographics.
Member Biographies:
CHRIS:
- went through Lismore University with Grinspoon, recorded, toured and won several music awards, kick arse live/studio bass player.
- toured NSW, QLD, SA, recording artist, played LIVE with Disco Montego, met Kylie Minogue in 2003 whilst in the final call auditions for Darren Hayes Band, Top 20 Aussie Drummer 1998, live TV gigs on Network 10.
SCOTT:
- toured NSW & QLD, Australian Idol 2003/2004, recording solo artist, appeared in various TVCs, appeared on The Footy Show, in the latest NIB TVCs.
WHY?
Because music is cool, people are cool, entertaining is cool, guitars are cool, drums are cool ,basses are cool and being able to eat is VERY cool!!
We have toured around Australia in planes, been on TV, radio, played live just about every where, played on albums, been promised record deals BLAH, BLAH, BLAH!

Never a dull moment, meeting great people, meeting gorgeous women, claiming CDs come tax time, and we get paid for it.
Maybe the ups out weigh the downs in this case...

In an intelligent way to solve our Beasties Vs Nerd battle, i took the liberty of getting out My copy of NERDs album IN SEARCH OF, and i generally think i am an open minded person, upon listening i did realise they are quite Funky, but i did hear some yelling on songs like Rock star and a couple of others that i do not remember the name of, now its EASY to criticise the BEASTIES without actually owning a Beastie boys album (which u dont JAMIE), u would then See that they dont always YELL, u are prob thinking of 2 songs =prob all u know (can u PLEASE name them) that u know where they yell, now i dont think i could really listen to songs about intelligent subject matter like Lapdances, killing ppl, taping girls doing whatever Lewd acts that NERD speak of! Beasties may do some yelling but thats theyre style as they are all HYPE MEN, they have energy, presence and theyre old skool hip hop ways/flows have them all yell and finish off each others sentences. Seeing as ure Prob not open minded enough to actually flick thru a whole beasties record (i mean one more current than FIGHT FOR YOURE RIGHT TO PARTY). Beasties get more respect amongst Hip hopppers than pharreLL and nerd ever Will. I look forward to hearing an intelligent response!
