"Scott makes the process of creating your best work very simple, fun, and efficient. He knows his way around the computer and protools to enhance the sound you're after. Recording is such a personal process, it's easy to get wrapped up in the way you sound, forgetting HOW to get that sound. Scott immediately puts you at ease with his goofy sense of humor and laid-back personality so that your best work can emerge." --Lacey Black of Lacey Black & Red Rhapsody

Since I started my audio services career it has been my mission to make recordings that bring together audio quality and musical performance. I began my road to engineering and producing in 1985 by attending Berklee College of Music. After Berklee I ended up in Durango, Colorado in 1989 until moving to Denver, Colorado in 1993.
Bio
As a freelance engineer and producer in Denver and the surrounding area, two of Scooter’s projects won Westword Magazine’s “Best of Denver” award for best local artist. The same magazine bestowed “Best Listening Room for Acoustic Music in Denver” several times to the Swallow Hill Music Association during the ten years Scooter was their principle live sound engineer. In 2003 Scooter opened Scooter’s Place, his mix and over-dub suite co-located at Airshow Mastering in Boulder, Colorado.
With the birth of their son Elliot, Scott and his wife Jennifer decided to return to Durango in 2005. “It’s great to see how the town has changed and remained the same. I’m excited to be back in Durango with its beautiful south west location and to offer my studio and my services to those located in the Four Corners area; and for those who have to travel a little further, the chance to experience the beauty, charm and relaxed lifestyle of Durango.
Scooter's Place is a well appointed, comfortable living room style recording studio featuring multiple recording spaces to stretch out in.
The studio layout consists of a control room, large main room and 2 isolation rooms. The control room speaks neutrally, letting the detail come through. The main room can give many things sonically including that big drum sound. The 2 iso rooms let you spread out and keep things isolated, making life easier when separation is needed. And keeping everyone in touch is a Furman HDS-6 headphone system that allows the user to create their own individual cue mix.
With its beautiful south west Colorado location in Durango; Scooter's Place brings to those located in the Four Corners area an audio oasis and for those who have to travel a little further, the chance to experience the beauty, charm and relaxed lifestyle of Durango. With competetive and affordable pricing, you can have a highly professional recording experience that fits within your budget.
